    • Simply because the WORLD MARKET very much depends on the US MARKET.

If the US market is in trouble, slowdown...... etc, the whole world market could suffer. Therefore u are correct that alot of 'White Knight' will come to the rescue......

Perhaps when CHINA fully becomes a World Power...... things might be difference.

China is already a super power, nuclear arms & a permenant seat in the UN Security Council confirms it more than ever, however you probably must be talking about it in economy status, with the largest reserve in the world, it is already a forbidable economic country, however for the world 'power' to shift to the Asian region, i highly doubt that would happen, the EU and the other western countries would not allow that..

    • China is not a super power yet. But China confirmed is a regional power.

Unless PLAN has a blue water navy that is capable of denying US Navy access to the Pacific Ocean as and when necessary, she is far from a super power.

In the event of a nuclear first strike, the United States's nuclear arsenal is
capable of wiping out the entire Chinese leadership by ICBMs launched from the West Coast.

Currently the PLA has 200 IRBMs missiles capable of reaching continental United States.

United States has lost both the Korean and Vietnam war.

I seriously doubt the United States will ever wage a all out conventional war with China if required. Most likely it will a nuclear scenario.

Err, to what rights do u think China has even if it has a navy that is able to match the USA to systematically deny USA access to the Pacific ocean? Rolling Eyes

If you ever wondered, there will be no nuclear first strike by the usa unless it is being striked first, thats in the constitution of the USA i believe..correct me if i am wrong.

Do you actually believe thats all China has? How many nuclear warheads do you think Isreal actually possess? amid its denial of existence?

United States has lost both the Korean and Vietnam war.

And? they are still at 'war' in Iraq, and Afganisten and also techinically at 'war' with the North Koreans.

They will never be a nuclear war outbreak between China & USA, both would not want it or rather, the world will not allow it.. , a war between China & USA amounts to a World War 3 if u factor in both their allies. Rolling Eyes

    • Woohoo.

There might be an interesting global scenario in year 2008.

      Stagflation.

Let's see how this phenomenon screws the global economies. Laughing

    • China could use only 1/3 of its foreign reserves to buy control over of all the public listed US banks. Thats super power already.

    • So far the United States has neither denied nor acknowledged a "No first use" policy.

The National Defence University, where the generals and admirals wargame contigency plans, they actively wargame First strike decapitation scenarios, SIOPs (Single intergrated operation plans), where they launched their missiles to wipe out the Chinese leadership, and what ever arsenal inside the missile silos.

Who gives the US Navy a right to declare a radius of 500 nm miles around an aircraft carrier a no fly zone? Any aircraft, ship or vessel within that radius is immediately engaged as a hostile.

We did the same, so did Sweden's HMS Gotland. Rolling Eyes

Yes that would quite likely going to happen especially the first 2 quarter of the year.
