    • This is a trend towards healthcare privatization...if you're a rich man like YTL chairman...best healthcare here here in SG....but if you working class one need to ask whether or not operation is available if your health fails...

So are SG ready for such a system??Are we really covered??
If suharto was just another man in the street in Jarkata and fallen, wonder if the docs will save him without money and insurance??

    • In our civilised world especially so called developed status like SG...we need to ask ourselves whether our lives are based on our net worth meaning only the top 20% lives are worth to be saved?

And the 80% dun play play with your health Twisted Evil

    • To me it seems that your argument proposes the importance of people buying sufficient healthcare insurance coverage with a reputable insurance company.

I think the responsibility of the Government can be expected to extend only to policing these insurance companies and hospitals to ensure that we, the citizens, don't get cheated by either of them. And where to report these when it happens.

And perhaps assisting to educate the public on how these work so we know our rights.

    • contrary to what lky mentioned.
Retirement might not equal death. No money + sick then equal die.

somehow, i feel lky is getting really really old in recent years.. imo, his views are less than his usual sharpness lately.. some of his comments he make internationally are also of less appropriate...

    • get insurance coverage.

but get it from a proper insurance agaent. not those young punks.

tip :if an insurance agent calls himself "financial adviser" stay clear.

a real insurance agent is humble enough to call himself "insurance agent"
