thanks for all yr invaluable comments and feedbacks…in fact I’ve already discussed with my wife and being on the thrifty she feels ok to buy within the $15 daily limit and yet we can still have fish,meat,veggies,etc fresh daily for lunch and dinner with no leftovers.The wet is < only about100 metres from our house.

walk lor. Want to save money, no choice mah. And most HDBs estates do have a coffee shop within walking distance.

Da bao cai peng 2 meat 2 vege is about $3.60

2 meals = $7.20 each person < $7.50
Guaranteed very full for the average person.

Its the government's responsibility to minimise the impact inflation has on citizens.

$15/day for marketing is too little. Sillypore’s definition of ‘Marketing’ has been cheapened. Ask any employer and they’re mostly looking for O/A levels who can also do sales. They are also in favour of fresh graduates not because they are sympathetic but because it will be cheaper.

Proceed to the real marketing staff in Sillypore who have proper qualifications and still, you see a sorry plight. Most (95%) can’t speak proper English and have conservative ideas unwilling to try new methods. So that’s ‘marketing’ for you.

It's your wife that you gave money to spend on market to buy food.
not to your maid -_-

if your wife understand that you are having problem forking out the extra $5 everyday.
I supposed she will still keep it to $15++ and then save the rest for the rainy days.

I'm not married and not tied to any mortage loans.
So you can just considered my 2cents.

I give my wife everyday about $15 each day to prepare lunch and dinner for just only the 2 of us.She can cook fish,soup and meat for each meal( ie for both lunch and dinner).She normally is able to buy within $15 or exceed slighlty but with rising inflation do U think I need to increase to $20.I am drawing about $4k each month but still has a mortage loan to service.This $15 excludes the fruits that we’ll have before eaach meal.Is this the norm of most young couple.Your comments please
