A lot has been said about putting up a reward for his capture in recent days ...
Now even Lianhe Wanbao today reported that a reward of $8888 is up for grabs as a reward if it leads to the successful capture of Mas Selamat ! Do u think that a reward is necessary to bring about a successful capture of escaped detainee JI Leader Mas Selamat ? As they say , money is the root of all evil , the power of money cannot be underestimated sometimes ...
Sure , it can make one do a lot of things , sometimes things beyond one's or even your own imagination and will , just for the sake of getting the money . While a reward may serve as an added incentive for the hard work being used in the search , or also to serve as a motivation for us , shouldn't this have come straight from all our own heart , on our own accord and not because of the lure of big money to be ' won ' for his capture ?
After all , we are talking about national security at stake here , 4 million people's lives as well as national image ... We all know how dangerous this man can be and really Is , so why do we still need a reward to be put up before we as citizens of Singapore will start to take action ?
Shouldn't this duty of defending our country is just what all Singaporeans should do on their own accord and initative , WITHOUT the lure of reward or money ?
In the face of possible danger , do we really still need money to make us move and take action ? Shouldn't we all start to do what little we can NOW and NOT WAIT ! Just try our very Best , something at all ... , before it Is REALLY too late ?
