i vote yes for voters at 18.

talk about maturity, u see those older voters keep voting for PAP even though they whine and complain about them all day long. that where the 66.6% comes about, and if that is maturity, then i dont see any reason why we should stop the young ones from voting.

I was wrong. 18 year olds should be allowed to vote. I still recommend more experience before voting. (more like at 21) Wisdom is determined by how much life experience a person has had and how much he/she has learned and grown from it. It should not depend on how much birthdays that a person has celebrated. Knowing that life is rough for some teens (including the fact that they are not taken seriously because of their age) and they must cope with a lot of stress because of it, I think that counts as enough expeience. However, I'm still opposed to drafts. Youths should join the army of their own free will and not because they have no choice.

Less people will object to the draft if there is generous compensation. Say, suppose the government were to provide all NS servicemen free medical benefits: 100% if if you are combat fit, 50% if you are PES C, 25% for PES E. Women, PRs and all those exempted from NS will have to pay more in taxes to pay for the subsidies. I bet there will be less objections to NS.
