      Police arrest former Singaporean for insulting public servant

      SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a former Singaporean for the offence of "threatening, abusing or insulting a public servant".

      In response to media queries, police confirmed that Gopalan Pallichadath Nair, who is now a US citizen, was arrested at Broadway Hotel along Serangoon Road on Saturday.

      A warrant of arrest without bail was granted by the courts for the arrest.

      Nair is alleged to have sent an email to the Attorney-General and the Solicitor-General which contained statements amounting to the offence of insulting a public servant.

      The statements were directed against Justice Belinda Ang, a Supreme Court judge. The statements were also posted on Nair's blog.

      Nair is presently in police custody. He will be charged in court on Monday. - CNA/de

      His arrest was not about MM or PM.....

       

      But I think for calling the Judge at CJS case..... Names.

      hmm. i think prostituting may not be about sexual services. but it's about selling certain service for money, which is degrading in itself.

      Well he did come back and ask to be arrested. How can we reject him smile.png. Hope he is not running away from ah long.

      well the chap was taunting the powers that be to sue him ... now he's got somehing even better ...

      He must be of a certain standing if not he will not dare challenge the dictator and son.  He must have calculated the risk and may have lots to fall back on as he anticipates something like that will happen to him.

      He not stupid ok.

      He's a little too much, I've to agree.

      Maybe he wants to contribute some money into Singapore's economy, and use it to advertise himself internationally at the same time icon_lol.gif
