    • it always amuses me that committing adultry is a greater crime for a President than invading 2 countries and bringing one to economic ruin.

Not to mention sacrificing your youth and taxpayers' money.

    • Detroit Free Press *Conyers' hearing impugns but does not impeach Bush* July 26, 2008 WASHINGTON-Once a darling of the impeach-the-president, antiwar crowd but recently a target of its barbs, Rep. John Conyers of Detroit - the chairman of the Judiciary Committee - \held a hearing Friday that, while not about impeaching President George W. Bush, allowed some witnesses and members of Congress to suggest just that. Democratic leaders in the House have taken impeachment off the table over the loud objections of some critics who argue that Bush has committed various offenses -- including, they say, misleading the nation in the run-up to the Iraq war. Conyers deferred to his party's leadership and kept the hearing largely in order while still giving those who support impeachment a chance to vent. And when Republicans complained that the meeting sure sounded like an impeachment hearing, Conyers assured them they were mistaken. "To the regret of many," he said. By Todd Spangler

M13, how on earth can you reduce the taxable income by changing the shareholding structure of a company?

Ask this of you, a businessman with a chargeable income of $80,000 for year of assessment 2007 and tax charge of $11,200, decides to keep away from paying tax by giving his wife a 50% of his sole proprietorship company shares, thereby reducing their total tax payable from $11,200 to $6,800. The businessman effectively cheated IRAS by avoiding the difference of the two tax payable, which is $4,400.

      Did he commit tax evasion?

Call KPMG, Deloittes, PWC or EY to confirm with their tax accountant. I don't have time for you. icon_mrgreen.gif

At least they can get consultation fees from you.

Maurizio, there is definitely no need for any big accounting firms to comment on such fundamentally flawed and stupid statement that you have made.

It seems like you have a tendency of abusing the names of big corporation, individual and institution to support your dumb statements in this forum.

    • This is just symbolism.

      Factional politicking.

Nut-and-bolts, empty procedural works of a parliament.

I would be very surprised if the president is impeached, or even censured.

The reason is because......I think their nation is already stoked into a war sentiment.

Genie is unleashed from the bottle.

They will never impeach their president in a middle of a war.

Factional politicking or motions being put forward...sure....but it will never bear fruit, nothing will happen, no momentum, no consensus.

      Meat Pao.

    • Well, for any of you here who are celebrating Bush's imminent impeachment, put the champagne on ice, it's never going to happen because there are too many people who wield the chains of power who has a stake in this enterprise.
