ok.
so he has been governing singapore (i had wanted to write our country. but on 2nd thought, it is HIS country rather than ours. seriously speaking, there's no sense of belonging or wadsoever.) for the past decades. he has been controlling everything and making life difficult for all of us. he has been making decisions behind the scene (much like Cixi Dowager in Qing dynasty). he even has to interfere in an internal affair between SIA and its staff. like trying to make the country dependent on him. he can't seem to let go of power.
but death comes to all humans. what happens when he's gone? will the pap govt collapse? who knows, maybe 99% of policies and decisions were made by him. will msia grab the chance to undermine singapore?
these are just part of consequences caused by him who is not able to let go of power. i read about the joke posted in this forum that he should have retreated in glory. i totally agree. why stay in power until people begin to hate you? why not retire in glamour and respect?
if he refuses to retire, then let nature takes its own course.
but are you looking forward to the day he will be gone?
what is the most scary thing about him is that he will rise in his grave if singapore is in trouble. for goodness sake! the country is not his!
if the govt really want people to feel a sense of belonging to singapore, then give the country back to its citizens! back to us!

recently the govt has been really making things difficult for all of us. it's to the point of ren3 wu2 ke2 ren3 (tolerate with them until cannot tolerate anymore).
how i wish the president can be given more power over issues and policies. at least can keep the govt in check and dun let them say or do wadever they want. esp what they do or say are all loads of crap and rubbish.

hehe...y do u think im suitable for National Development? I have much more ideas for an overhaul of teh education system- i should be taking the eduction portfolio. CX for law? i sort of think we ought to have someone who has less confidence in our laws. he mkight do better for Defenxe though. in fact, posting man-@-arms for Defense would be better. n u still think it is necessary to have an Information ministry? since you appear to be very liberal, i must say i feel very surprised.

Greetings Gentlemen,
From the past postings that you have all made, it revealed a little of your personalities and interests, which I thought I could take advantage of.
CenturionMBT seems to be good for the Presidents portfolio in view of his quiet, disrupting but inquisitive foray, and can help to counter balance a strong PM.
Viper52 seems to be a level headed person with a good measure of patience, able to hold your position and persuade others to come to your point of view; which is a quality that is needed to encourage open thinking and yet come to a common position.
Gendaken a psychologist with NSF Commando training, will make a good candidate to oversee the development of a lean and mean military machine.
Oldbreadstinks will take the life out of any unruly domestic trouble maker, but still if you prefer to take over Culture and Arts, its fine, but you will need to change your nick.
NathanG5 sorry to think that your ethnicity is Indian, just to keep to the tradition of this portfolio - which had been passed on from Rajaratnam to Jayakumar; but still even if you are not Indian, it is fine if you are articulate enough to handle foreign affairs.
CX The crystal ball must have given me an insight that you are the best candidate to tackle SM and the Chief Justice both of whom will be perfect targets of legal background, for you to vent your feelings with passion. With your background training in history, it should not be too difficult for you to handle this ministry that has its own rich background, and should be intellectually challenging for you to nail those lawyers whom you now reveal that you hate so much.
cavsg has many times shown his resourcefulness in digging out very interesting information, and will make a perfect candidate to liberalise information and arts.
Bear for Transport it will take the spirit of a Bear to tackle the multi-facetted traffic and transport management problems in Singapore.
pikamaster it is fine if you prefer to take the Education portfolio, as I thought your name seems to show an inclination towards being a master builder of some sort.
panja_V with the kind of spirit that you displayed in your postings, this will be the kind of inspiration needed to handle the crap that exist in Environment.
nismoS-132 seems to be meticulous and careful in your approach, and not as reckless, and will be in a suitable position to provide leadership in Health.
shutterbug being such a radical will be wonderful to revamp the staid institutions in Education.
Tripwire being such a loose cannon will make a wonderful vehicle for the PM to be a trouble shooter.
There are quite a few other sgForum personalities that are Cabinet material such as BillyBong, FireIce, Stevenson101, lsurence82, sgboy2004, and some more others that have slipped from memory but the portfolios could be extended, as and when determined by the PM.
To those others whom I have left out, my apologies - but it was good fun with this list.

we can
always start from giving the judiciary more independence and the
judges to be appointed by the President instead. Currently, the
Constitution provides that "The Chief Justice, the Judges of Appeal
and the Judges of the High Court shall be appointed by the
President if he, acting in his discretion, concurs with the
advice of the Prime Minister." Nuff said about
independence.

if the govt really want people to feel a sense of belonging to singapore, then give the country back to its citizens! back to us!interesting to know that the people making the most noise here, are the same people who knows sh!t about leading the country. can u lead? what can u do to make the country better?
all u know is how to b!tch and be a whiny pussi. LKY was freaked when singapore went independent. and i dare say they did a pretty good job considering the pathetic size of our nation, you'd still be fishing in some unknown kampong if its not because of the leaders.
ya, PAP have problems, but give them some credit la. ol grandpa lee sure make some mistake, but if u were the leader, we'd be worse off.. so stop whining, unless u want to make a valid point backed up with actions instead of just giving out empty air that is as worthless as the air that comes out of your pimply arse, shibuya

and yes, whats so freaky abt him rising when the nation is in trouble, that action shows more spirit than your brain cell count. having someone to clean up the mess u retards create, like a spoilt brat whose mouth can only spill sh!t like an overflowing toilet bowl. you boldly claim its "our" country?(or rather your country) fine! what have you done to contribute to singapore's initial struggles to success? hell, you were probably still pissing in your diapers and drinking milk at that time. u have a real strange mentality *shake head*Edited by dumbdumb! 17 Mar `04, 4:59PM
