    • What’s his agenda anyway…showing his incompetence in getting Thaksin? That’s his prob.the way I see it, Thaksin has kicked him in the balls and Sonthi’s just upset that being a general he has to lan lan suck thumb and let him kick.

    • Being the smallest nation in the region we are always getting picked on. "A small red dot" and what else they call us. We are always somebody's punching bag. What's all the 'hooha' about? They buy our company and we buy theirs. Just that we have more $$$$$$$$$.

When they have a disaster, SG will always try to be the first one to help, logisticlly, materials, food and money. They never complain, but receive with open arms for more. I think SG shouldn't give aid for free anymore Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil

Provide the evidence of SG snooping then read out the charges. Firing blanks makes one look stupid. Neutral Neutral Neutral

    • indeed these so call thai leaders are trying to divert attention since they cock up so many times and have become the world's laughing stock. Just like some other incompetent leaders from our neighbours. Sigh just our luck to have to put up with these useless shit heads.

However this time I also feel that we have to be more mindful about our neighbour's feeling too. Since this thai govt is so shaky, incompetent and afraid of Thaksin, we shouldn't have given them a chance to bark no matter whatever strong reasons we have, for what Thaksin is allowed to do in SG. If Thaksin was not allowed to be interviewed in Sg and also he can always chat with our DPM over phone instead of meeting "privately", then chances of the Thai military govt will bark is much lower. And we can avoid the noise and continue to enjoy MASSAGE-ZEE in thailand peacefully Laughing

    • We are not blamed because we are small, we are blamed because we have far more influence than the Thais in this region. It's part jealousy at work here..

Kinda like the usual West- bashing. Only thing is that Singapore is now the biggest bogeyman here..if you can't overhaul SG, you hantam and insult us.

    • Sometime I don’t understand why so many singaporean when they write about other country barking at us, always like to paint a picture that we are being bullied cos we are small. In fact those country that bark only make noise and can’t do much. So those who actually think we are small and helpless are this type of country men & women.

Free speech is alive and well in our little red dot. Apparently you still do not understand what was meant by responsibility. Does it help if I were to start ranting about something and insulting someone? What you're implying is that people are free to insult the Thai king? That must be what you mean by free since everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Responsibility is knowing what is right and what is wrong and not coming up with inflammatory remarks that are unjustifiable and only serves to hurt the feelings of others without constructive contribution to the ongoing discussion.

Generally its fine to be talking about politics in an open forum but this being a MILITARY forum, it is better to exclude politics here, there are other channels like the politics forum. The current Thai junta has already showed a good example that MILITARY and POLITICS do not mix well.

    • Ya , Obersturmfuhrer you are right .

I can write many and many could be view differently .
The clear intention to warn my fellow Singaporean Soldier regarding anti-Singaporean in Thailand come from Thai News articals and I had to share it .
Being responsible is to warn my Countrymen what is happening and it's their responsibility to look after themselve with more conscious .

In Singapore not only politics does not mixed well with Military , I think all issue is not . Politics have no room for those just want to talk freely and come with their opinion , I feel that politics are not open to critic at all , they uses responsibility to hold us back . that why many will say " what's the point when the situation are being multi control by politician " Even if they are not doing well or what we want , we had to shut our mind then our words . the point is clear , don't be afraid of critism if one never did wrong , open the heart for comment to built a better nation since the nation had paid your effort well . in a war we need to look after each other because everyone have a family to return , if we have this spirit in our so call Politics then our country is most respected .

Regards as usual just sharing ....

    • Yeah, we should retaliate with some economic reprisals against the bloody Thai fools now running the government and stirring up shxte.

      BUT....

At the same time, does anyone here feel that the spying allegations has any truth?

Why is Singapore especially keen to buy foreign telecommunication companies? Just purely for financial reasons are are there really some hidden agendas?

I don't know anything or suspects anything but it is always good to ask difficult questions instead of just accepting everything at face value.

    • you mean we should give Thailand a miss, just because of one person? Thailand is a vast country with big population of people, I will not want to miss the country just because of 1 person, be it Thaksin or Sonthi.

No. We should not retaliate with economic boycotts on the Thais. Firstly, its really very unfair for the Thai people since this was not something that they wanted. They did not ask for the coup, but rather it was forced upon them.

InfoComms is the big thing developing now. Its natural that if we want to become an infocomms hub in the region, we should acquire telecoms companies around us. Its not necessarily to seek military advantage, but a head start when the region moves to expand and develop their infocomms sector.

I cannot imagine what kinda plans the govt has made to secure the infocomms sector for Singapore to stay viable. But I can imagine, being able to solidify a hold on Telecoms companies around us being part of the strategy. Win-Win situation for developing countries around us, and for us as well.

    • very unfortunate about Thais is that they use too much of emotion , this can be bad , if this emotion transfer into anger then it's worst .
