SINGAPORE: The Singapore Army and the Indonesian National Army are conducting an annual bilateral exercise, code-named Safkar Indopura, in Singapore.
The exercise began on November 19 and will end on December 2.
About 350 commanders and soldiers from Singapore and Indonesia are taking part in the exercise.
The Ministry of Defence said the successful bilateral exercise is another testament to the excellent ties between the Singapore Army and the Indonesian National Army.
Since 1989, the exercise has been conducted alternately in Singapore and Indonesia. - CNA/ac

meanwhile, perhaps we can offer our Temasek lady boss to them......afterall. the KPPU Anti-Monopolistic Commision already raped us wolesale.......and their Vice President says,"Carry On"

A young ethnic Chinese Indonesian woman who had been counselling women raped during rioting in May has been found murdered at her home in Jakarta.
The body of Martadinata Haryono, 17, was found by her father on Friday night.
Rights groups say more than 160 ethnic Chinese were raped
She died of multiple stab wounds. A report in the Indonesian evening newspaper Suara Pembaruan said a police autopsy indicated she may also have been raped.
Miss Haryono and her mother both worked for Volunteers for Humanity, one of several groups established to counsel ethnic Chinese victims of the May unrest.
It was one of the first groups to bring attention to the issue of mass rapes.

This is a very disturbing picture. You can hardly tell the TNI and SAF soldier apart this close up. TNI troops are now wearing helmet camo that look like SAF helmet camo. In low light and from a distance, it will be impossible to tell them apart.
They even use SAF weapons like U100, SAR-21, CIS 50 and CIS 40AGL.
I don't know what's wrong with our government. They love to support the militaries of murderous regimes like Indonesia and Burma with lethal military aid.

The evil fellow on the left taught the Bali bombers to slaughter 202 innocents. He's released from jail after only a 26-month sentence. The same court gave the Christian Sunday school teacher on the right three years for teaching others to turn the other cheek.

Well Believe in Karma.. one day their country will topple.
Indonesia is a good place... Plenty of natural resources... the only sad thing is that, they do not love it and they do not treasure it
with proper management and care, Indonesia can be set to compete with nations like china Japan USA...
but they are lacking in foresight and they apparently are not managing themselves well.. one day.. it will be at their loss... where they start to wake up...
by then too late.

But unfortunately, the reality is that a place like Indonesia will never be well-governed, If tthe government of today falls, the next government will be equally ruthless - be they Islamic, Javanese or Acehnese etc.
It is funny as most of these SE Asian peoples had empires going back more than a thousand years like the Cambodians, Javanese, Siam etc yet today, they are still medieval in many ways.

What I am trying to say is that, with Indonesia at least, maybe our government is right in supporting them. (Though this is contrary to what I said earlier.)
The current Indo government is still relatively " moderate " and enjoys a certain amount of popular support. If they fall by violent means, the next government that rises in its place will definitely be worst.
But Burma is a different case.

If you read history, all prolonged wars spread to neighbours one way or another.
Even if it doesn't, the next government of Indon borne out of warfare would surely be an extremist one. And we lose a source of trade at best, or they export their extremism in a worst case scenario like Sukarno.Edited by chino65 01 Dec `07, 1:11PM

You want peace and security, make sure your neighbours have the ability to retain strong governance and responsible usage of this.
