    • Serious question here…how do snipers defecate when they are supposed to remain motionless for hours or even days? Can they just get up and answer the call of nature?

    • If you are talking about realistic tactical training I believe they also carry plastic bags with them

    • I dunno where you guys get the idea that snipers don't move at all.....

If we didn't move, we would be useless. Come on people......no more mysterious and legendary myths ok?

TS....we crap like any human do, through our butthole. Your question should be where we leave our poo. Well, like any good soldier, we dig a hole and we do it when convenient, like when it gets dark and we are in a relatively safe distance away from our prey.

In the first gulf war, SAS B20 team entered Iraq. Their equipment included a jerry  can which contained all their urine. The reason for this is because an animal's nose is highly sensitive to smell and getting tracked down by a dog is not a good idea. That is a special ops policy of "nothing left behind".

BTW TS, why did you ask such a gross question?

    • If you are on dog biscuits and chocoloate only diet you could hold it for days and days no problem . I used to laugh with my buddies when I exchange C-rations with them.Only time I dont laugh is when I finally take a dump 5 days later. In peace time you can bring your little cangkul (entrenching tool) with you to dig sh1t hole everywhere but in a tactical situation you better crap into a plastic bag like the rest of us on top of your tree.

There's this idea that Sniper teams get teleported to this tree behind enemy lines where they'll stay absolutely still, shoot some general and win the whole farkin war with 1 bullet.

Yeah, prowling dogs are a problem for special ops.  If remaining undetected wasn't such a big issue, a silenced pistol will do the trick. Otherwise, you'll need the "bitch in heat" scent to be liberally scattered nearby to make those dogs horny and their handlers to go WTF.  Dogs are afterall, just dogs.

    • Well, I guess they do it tactically and quickly if the need to do so arises.

During my BMT field camp, I remember having to do big business every single morning..... but by the time I went to my unit, I could go for four days straight in the jungle without sh*tting. I can imagine that many others here would have the same experience, including snipers.

Of course, once I got back to camp and visited the toilet..... let's just say that it's not a very pretty sight (and smell). icon_lol.gif

This is not a gross question; getting the answer sheds light on some aspects usually unknown about snipers (like some of the ‘legendary myths’ spreading around). If sh*ting is gross, why are you doing it? Smile

Frankly not all sniper mission need them to remain motionless !!!

A lot of mission actually snipers have construct sniper hides which screen them from enemy view giving them freedom of movement.

If tactical stituation require - the sniper need answer call of nature they just have to do it !!! So what they do it super slow motion get himself to a position or even location which he can do it. As to the question on if they do it into a plastic bag - that also depends if the situation require it.

Well if you so worry - you can buy adult pampers and wear it.

Everyone needs to take a dump to remain healthy and functional, therefore by your logic, I gather YOU need to ask gross questions to remain healthy and functional.

Your kind of reply shows the sad level of comprehension that most singaporeans have...the original question was basically one to dispel further myths on snipers and your riposte was to flame. I wasn't asking whether snipers need to take a dump or not but rather, how would they do it under dangerous situations.

I feel sorry for you. icon_neutral.gif

    • There was this Viet era top sniper named hathc*ck or something... Tasked to snipe a VC officer, crapped in his pants as he couldn't afford to make large movements...

Whether it was flaming or not is up to the interpretation of the individual. I could similarly accuse you of starting the flaming by saying "If sh*ting is gross, why are you doing it? Smile", but realising the relative nature of such interpretations I decided to demonstrate the flaw of your agument instead of jumping the gun and accusing you of something which you probably did not intend to do, it is with regret you do not treat fellow forumers with similar courtesy.

But, courtesy being what it is, is voluntary. You're welcome.

Carlos Hathcock. His act of killing does not make him a hero. His act of saving his comrades did.

For your benefit and level of understanding, I shall rephrase my answer so there could be no misunderstanding.

Humans need to defecate to stay healthy, but humans in general do not need to ask questions regarding defacating to stay healthy.
