Hehe, you should always be happy to get new brand new hardware ba.
For our future RSN Formidable-Class Frigates :
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/formidable/index.html
According to that site, "The Republic of Singapore Air Force will fly the shipborne helicopter and helicopter mission crew will be from the Republic of Singapore Navy. MINDEF is considering selection and procurement of the Eurocopter Cougar, NH Industries NH-90 or the Sikorsky S-70. "
I did a search for stats on all three contenders and to me, the NH-90 looks like a real solid navy helicopter for me. It can be outfitted for two specific roles, tactical transport or it can provide extra punch for the frigates by having Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Anti-Surface unit warfare capabilities for missions, plus a host of other applications such as airborne command post, special ops, parachuting...
Can oso do extra stuff like Search and Rescue, very important in case one of our ships langgar oil tanker again.

How do i know whether this topics have been discussed before?Although the search facilities is really shitty, its not a good excuse. You think the people here are so ignorant about the issues that you brought up? The things you talk about have threads started which are in the 1st page of the forum. You just have to OPEN your eyes and scan thru.

we have to face reality. this forum is very very limited in features. old threads got closed becos there is limited space. and if anyone just keep coming to open threads anyhow older and more valuable threads got to be closed. when i posted the naval helicopter thread, i wanted to use back an old thread but its closed so i have to start a new one.
