one of my cousins married a malay girl, ... no problems there ...
c'mon ... this is Singapore ... young people don't care about such things anymore ... and most of the older folks have learnt to accept it too .... -

rare...but they do occur.......dunno.....maybe lucky or attraction.........but best asians vs asians.....not asians vs caucasians......the kids will have alot of problems later........and not to mention...........esp the australian body odour.......yucks! i won;t want my child to inherit that odour......and all their laziness.........

Laziness is not an inherited trait. Its a matter of upbringing and culture. Nearly forty years of making racial harmony a priority in both our education curriculum and environment and this is the end product. Sigh... -

on religion, some traditional parents still want the chinese to convert over time. while others are more lax in this area. it really depends. if not, ur gf/wife to be might br 'forced' to leave her family and ties behind (extreme?).
on communication with one another, english is the denominator. unless ur into malay language? otherwise, its kinda fun to teach each other ur other tongues as well. maybe learn french? 
on culture. for chinese, the wife should follow the husband's culture etc. but in this case, pls consider certain mix-n-matches as its inter-racial. try out which is best for both of u. its not easy but remember that not one best is for all. come to a compromise at all times if u want it to work out.
overall, try to be understanding towards each other's feelings and views. broaden ur views on life and see things at each other's angle. listen to each other b4 shooting off remarks that may result in the otherwise.
enjoy urselves n each other's company. -
well if u are a malay girl married of a non malay boy..the boy must convert..

Hmmm... I do have a Chinese friend who's now with an Indian gal for almost 3 years and u can see that they're immense in their blissful relationship. Sometimes itÂ’s a matter of how u think, but like they say, Asians donÂ’t have open mind like the Caucasians.
If religion conversion is involved, I suggest the guy to think twice. Cos itÂ’s either make or break.

Well, is her family very strict when it comes to religion? That might mean that you have to convert. It really depends on the family. Like my friend's wife is Christian whereas he is Muslim and his parents don't expect her to convert unless she wants to. Besides that, you will have to handle your gossiping relatives etc who thinks that there is something wrong with you that you can't get someone of your own race. Not all. Some relatives I mean. Just make sure both of you can handle the gossiping.
I would say it was easier for me because my parents like him very much so no problems. I just had to handle the insensitive remarks from my relatives. Religion wise is of no problem since I'm a free thinker and he doesn't expect me to convert.
Btw, my husband is indian and a catholic. -
Best people to answer this question are the wife-to-be and her family.

Hmm... maybe I am just shallow too, but I cannot quite accept my baby daughter marrying an Indian when she grows up...
Make no mistake, I have nothing against Indians. It is a great culture, and some of my best pals are Indians too. It's just that .... I can't quite put it in words, but I can't shake the feeling that Indians prefer to take Chinese wives just for looks (lets face it guys, Chinese ladies are more attractive than the Indian ones, at least in Singapore), and also as social trophies.
I know my view is politically incorrect... but I'd just like to speak my mind...
