MY irritating Dad.........

My dad had retired for 1 years plus... He left nothing behind and just lost a substantial amount of money on a fail business... He will suddenly scold all of us for nothing.. Being irritated my sis and bro hate to stay at home, they would rather go elsewhere to sleep ... Mum will roam around shooping after work ... As for me , i spend my most time outside ,work and sleep... He now take $$ Regluarly from us ... my sis have given somethign like $3000... That force me to hide most of my money overseas... Although I owned some business , I can't really stand his type of not contributing and eating into people hard earned money type of attitude...
I feeling really tired and agonise now.... I will work harder on my business and take $500,000 to buy a condo as a 2nd place of peace....

Is your father the kind of wanting to take easy way out and earning fast bucks with minimal effort that kind?
If this is so, research done by IMH Behaviourial psychology department says that ppl of this kind normally fails in both work and family life. Your dad needs some help from SGH behaviourial correction specialist. If not u can give him allowances and dun feed him with too much cash or his condition might get worse. -

I don't think giving money to a gambler solves anything. You will just set him up against bigger debts because these people with money in hand will never ever ever want pay the debt. They will just gamble it away. Its the gambler's fallacy that they believed that the next hand, they will win. My FIL is a gambler who never wins. So far, I know that whatever money we gave to my FIL over CYN, he lost it all and he had to work extra to pay off his debts. He had never contributed to the family, house, food or anything.

I not trying to complain that my dad is not good ... it just so of the bad habits I can't stand... Our families have being in some form of business but my dad way of handling it turn the whole company from profit-making to losing...
I hope this thread can get me valuable advice for me and serve as a refuge for pouring my sorrow as I have been quite stress recently.... -

How about you help him find something to do without being pushy? What are his hobbies? What were his dream? Does he have any talents? Buy him a budget airline air ticket to fly somewhere and stay in a dorm? We only have 24 hrs a day... if it is occupied with something, we can't be gambling at the casino at the same time.
