How do one ween oneself off GAMING?????

I can't believe I am actually posting in agony!!!!
But seriously, how do one get off the addiction???? Do you just get up one day and decide "okay, that's it, i'm done with it!"? Or do you get grounded for spending too many hours (per day) on it???? Or do you re-direct yourself to other activities?
Come one, come all.....got tips or no-fail recipe(s) to share?

its very simple,
sure fire way
lock your computer in the storeroom,
hand the key over to someone and tell him, no matter what, DON'T HAND over the key
and one week later, you should be doing fine -
ahh finally u realized it..
getting another addiction is good, for me i got bored of the game naturally..
err try limit game time? -

ok.... i think TS, is talking about World of Warcraft
then i think, you have to cut off his internet connection, lock the PC
or it will be very hopeless -
gaming. in a sense. was a way for me to escape reality. during my primary/secondary school days. i used to game non-stop.
after i finished o-levels. i found no meaning to continue playing. i just. got sick and bored of gaming. occasionally. will play lah. but not hardcore la. -

i already forbidden myself from buying the expansion pack, Burning crusade already.
i used to stare at the screen for 16 hours
then raiding came along
you know those end game content, it took around 8 hours to try the new map,
trust me, you have to be heartless , or THATS IT
raiding is a killer, you basically have to stare at the screen, waiting for the loot,
