Thank you to all those that have participated in the AA selections process thus far. Your feedback, comments, questions and answers have all been very helpful in the selection process. Unfortunately I have had to close the original Q&A and feedback thread because some of our 'senior' members decided to hijack it. Dear sgForumers of Aunt Agony Land
Applications for the moderator positions have closed and 5 candidates have been shortlisted to proceed to the final round of selection. Congratulations to all of them!
As at the end of the day, the moderators will be serving our community, I would like for the community to be able to get involved in this selection process. To this end, I have opened this thread to give every member an opportunity to give feedback and also to have a Q&A session with the prospective candidates. Although this is not an election, the sgForums Inner Circle will definitely take on board, where appropriate, as much feedback from you as possible. It is also a chance for you to question and get to know your prospective future moderators.
Please avoid posting messages which do not contribute to this aim! (I know its hard but try lahÂ…) Also, if there is any feedback you would like to give in private, please feel free to PM me.

Other info:
There are 3 moderator positions open but depending on how things go we might only fill 1 or 2 of them after these selections.
We hope to make a decision by early June.

Pitot has no problems with BadzMaro, Yunhaier and honeymouse, but he never actually voted... Did you, Peetoot?
Starpuppy also never actually voted but he prefered Yunhaier.
browniebaobao is considering honeymouse for 2nd moderator.

Getting votes is not right as this is not one of those reality shows leh. Members who know the candidates will vote for their their favourite one. But there are many members who post their threads in AA and do not read ALL the other threads, except for replies to their own. Preferably somone who actually has counselling training and moderating experience. And someone who has empathy, compassion & dedication.

I vote for Yunnie as first and only choice.
No offence to the others, but I think they all lack the experience and credibility to be the mod of AA. I am sure they can be mods of some other forums.
However, i feel that AA is a unique forum, not very different from the religious themed ones. The requirement is harsh. The mod need to be extremely clear headed and must be very mature in his dealings with the members. -

The mod has to be firm and harsh at times to take care of forumites who do not abide by rule here, and yet he or she must also know how to loosen up when needs be. And commitment is also very important, it must not be a one time off enthusiasm...

Yunnie has the highest support so far. Doubtless he will be the first mod after Jason, if he is willing to take up the post.
