What will you do when you believe in this religion but your parents are a non-believer and worst they don't know that you are in that religion.
Will you keep quiet and not tell them ?
Or ..... ????
How do you serve ties with that religion ,before , which you had *pray* since the time you are born. ..

Unless I am a malay muslim or a member of a cult, I would tell them that I have converted and I would expect them to respect my decision. If I am a malay muslim I will look at what countries I can migrate to before telling them. If I am a member of a cult I wouldn't bother telling them, I'll just slit my wrists. -
Usually people are tolerant of religions la..just be honest and tell themto respect ur wishes lor..unless u join some unorthodox thingy..then good luck to u

Even if your parent don't allow you, you can't control your heart but believe in that religion right?
follow your heart...
and something to tell you, don't misunderstanding the teaching of all religion...
i believe non-religion tell you to go against your parent...
also, follow you heart to choose which is the best choice to make. if you think its correct, it is correct... if you think its wrong, then is wrong... -

Religion lies within your heart and there it shall remain until one fine day when you discover it yourself. Let your parents be because there is no compulsion in religion. Tell them lovingly and wisely.

Being quiet about it for awhile is nothing wrong and being a follower of another religion is not a sin too. That is my opinion.

You have to know that praying or methods of praying is just the external element because the real qualities of any prayers is within your heart and soul. God listens to good prayers and not bad prayers because, "The word is God and God is Good." He is not BIAS.

If it is, I fully agree with you that it is Man that had create the concept of
having a Creator God. The Book is nothing but a collection of fables to
indoctrinate and frighten the uneducated people of ancient times into

I'd deal with the consequences, bearing them patiently. If in the relationship to my parents I was only seeking gratification and comfort as a son dependent on them, now it cannot be anymore. Nevertheless, I still have a responsibility towards my parents. But my belief cannot be a stupid belief where I call myself Pastafarin and my parents call themselves Sushinist and we slaughter each other psychologically/emotionally. I understand I have to love them regardless, while finding my own way out of my own struggles.
