    • Hmm.. I dunno how to start.. But this is all work related..

Now i'm feelin v confused.. Haha.. Dunno how to put my thoughts into words..

Currently, i'm working in a clinic.. We already have 2 associate doctors working in a clinic above us.. How it works is on off we refer to each other cases when we're too crowded or dependin on the speciality..

Now.. A new doc will be joinin in to our clinic.. & the decision has been made!! All the staff will be shared by all 4 docs!!

      Shocked I'm fainting!!

I worked close to a year now.. 3 more mths & i'm a year.. Sorta v used to my job scope.. Not tat it's at a comfortable level!! Far from it!

But the stress of addin another doc in is killin mi! Coz my doc quite demanding.. All docs are! U're expected to know almost everythin from dae 1.. I'm totally fresh grad when i started.. & given onli a wk to adapt and learn from the old staff..

The new doc won't be bringing any staff over.. As the ONLI nurse there! I'm expected to be assistant to both doc! Mayb i'm thinkin too far now..

But then.. If they both runnin clinic at the same time.. Who am i expected to go to when they called at the same time?!?

Of coz.. They have clinic assistant.. Mainly certain stuff.. E.g procedures.. OR surgery related stuff all under mi..

Another concern is tat.. Practically everydae.. We work over time.. Our policy is tat we claim time off when there is no clinic..

Now.. It'll pose a major issue coz it will be much harder for us to take.. Once our doc is not runnin a clinic..The other doc will be runnin.. Gettin overtime pay is certainly out of the question!

Would it be possible to ask? How shld we put across it to our boss??

Working for one lady boss is a killer! Workin for 2 in the same area!! It spells disaster!!

Upstairs one guy, one lady.. But shldn affect us much unless they find us to do tis and tat.. P.s: Upstairs 2 doc compared to our one doc load is the same!

Our doc sees double the patients in a day!!

Belive it or not.. Our patient can be stuck in the clinic for at least 3 -4 hrs b4 they can go home!!

I'm gettin sentimental.. Laughing haha..No matter wat.. My boss is the 1st person whom i had an interview with.. Thru out my whole life!! My first job.. first boss..

Kinda attached.. Haha.. I also feel indebted to her.. Coz she groom mi & taught mi lots.. Gave mi a green horn a chance too..

I'm afraid i'll show preference.. Haha..

The new doc seems to be on the losin side?!?

Coz no matter wat.. My colleagues have been workin 6-8 years... The newest is also almost a yr.. She still have a big say to us compared to the new doc!

And the new doc doesn have anyone at all!

Gosh.. I guessed i'm reali confused..Jus letting out.. Dunno wat i wan too.. Wink

    • Why not give it some thought?

Confusion only leads to something worse that could affect your work attitude.

Perhaps the new doc could be nice? You never know. If you really do not know what to do then ask for advice, if possible ask your lady boss since she taught you alot of stuffs, as long its reasonable, it is alright to ask.

      Just my 2 cents.

Then, choose the one that u think is more important lor... Probably, efficiency will reduce but it is a good way for yr boss to noe so that he or she can understand the problem behind efficiency reduce ><

2)"Would it be possible to ask? How shld we put across it to our boss?? "

u require skills or working experience to do the above. Anyway, it is best for yr senior to put it across...

3)"I'm afraid i'll show preference.. Haha..
The new doc seems to be on the losin side?!?"

It is normal for one to show preference in work. Anyway, if the new doctoc do not want to be on the losing side, he will complete with the lady doctor lor... Then, u benefit ><

4"Kinda attached.. Haha.. I also feel indebted to her.. Coz she groom mi & taught mi lots.. Gave mi a green horn a chance too.. "

When u work, regardless u r green horn or old horn, u need to be trained... Old horn only makes training faster and easier... tat's all...

Advice : U should talk these things with yr colleagues rather than posting in AA... Then, yr question number 1 and 2 can be solved easily...

    • I think you need to request for a staff meeting.

Over loading is actually bad for the patients.

3-4 hours wait is not acceptable.
I would drop this clinic like a hot sack of potato and seek services elsewhere.
Unless, the practice is so specialised that I have no other choice.

Please speak to your boss about this.
Running at 150% for the staff will only result in burn outs and high staff turnover.
