are u sure only winxp allowed? coz some of my frens frm ngeeann poly have vista installed. and there shouldn't be any diff be it vista or xp rite? e-learning programs software and curriculum all done online rite? any special software that only be done on xp?Originally posted by furb:The differences between getting n poly and outside is:
Getting in poly is cheaper, getting from outside you can customise the specification.
About software and stuffs, the school will provide you whether you buy your laptop from sch or outside.
If buy from sch, the software is already in it. If buy from outside, you have to waste a bit of your time for the sch to install the softwares in your laptop.
If window vista, the sch will re-install the whole laptop to win xp. That is how much poly hate vista.
Total installation time can be up to 6 hrs, be prepared.
outside onli get 1 yr meh? i tot min is 2-3yrs outside as wellOriginally posted by Rockhound:IDA Tender laptops are pretty good...

IT Support and Tech Corner
Laptops offered by institutions are pre-tendered with the required specs by the school.... respective companies such as Diversetec, Asiapac, Lenovo, Acer...etc would then offer their wares...
The school is actually purchasing from tenders....thats y quite cheap..plus it is given 3 year warranty whereas outside oni get 1 unless u pay more
unless offered...but generally home consumers get 1 year onsite warranty,..Originally posted by elspeth:outside onli get 1 yr meh? i tot min is 2-3yrs outside as well
