I think love, true love and not limerence, is very passive and stable.
It does not tolerate games, it does not cause intrusive thinking or "love madness", there is no mix of uncertainty and hope, and it does not die in a few weeks to a few years and leave you wondering 'what the hell did I see in him/her'. It involves concern for the other person's welfare and feelings.
Love is the reason a couple stay together happily when they are way past their honeymoon period (i.e. not "in love with" each other, but they "love" each other)
..but that is just, imho.
As to your question, and I'm assuming you're talking about a formal romantic relationship/arrangement, the answer is 'no' - if you are the rare couple that is not bound by society's invisible rules about how love between individuals should be conducted/defined. -
LOVE means wanna be together with the special person. If you dont felt like wanna stay or live together or be beside taht person, that is not LOVE !!
U live with your dog, u LOVE him bcuz you wan him to stay in the house with you to greet you everytime you come back home !!!
Whatever.. obviously Love is Love.. ask God for that. -

It infects ppl with different genes. Those ppl who has similar genes to another virus will tend to develop chemical reaction to cause the person to have good feeling with the other person that has the similar type of Love Virus.
Since virus get mutated al the time. Many ppl with this LOVE disease will tend to have self-projected hallucination. That is why we say LOVE IS BLIND.
You see..
This LOVE virus is not cureable due to its rapid mutation. Modern medicines doesnt seem to work on hallucination created by this virus. Therefore, ppl ended up suicide if there is no more LOVE. Once the virus mutated to diffrerent type, it tends to infect other ppl. SO, when this virus left this person, that person will no longer develop the chemical reaction to LOVE their lover. That is why ppl do break up.

Love is forever evolving and devolving; changing in intensity. It has no fixed nature of its own. It is a feeling can't be controlled by a remote control. Love can't be defined as it can't be measured.
There are many types of loves ::> Family love, friendship love, bf/gf love and love for a stranger. Love does not necessarily need two hands to clap. You can love without expecting anything in return. You can even love a stranger, by showing care and consideration to him.
If you put in too much love into ONLY someone, you probably will suffer alot when there person is gone but when you spread your love around in the first place, it couldn't be there bad when it is gone.
When i love ( be if friends, family, bf etc. ), it is probably almost forever and true. There is i will care for the welfare of the people around me.
