sec 5 or higher nitec?

hey , i just got my N level result tis afternoon
i score 5 points for my top 3 subject
im eligible to go for sec 5 or direct route to higher nitec using my N level result.
im really interested in going to higher nitec but my parents insist on me going to sec 5. Im not saying i do not want to go sec 5, but if i choose to take sec 5
im afraid i will fail my O levels and still end up in ITE. In the end i wasted 1 year.
i really wanna go higher nitec now, how to convice my parent ? -
most ppl here will tell u sec 5 - go sec 5 lah..

its not tat i don wanna go sec 5
its just tat i have no confidence in doing well in my O level to go poly
lets say if i take sec 5 and do badly for O level, i still end up in higher nitec
in other words, i wasted 1 year whereby i can go higher nitec now -
go to sec 5 ba i know the difficulty i retain 2 yr next year then sec 4 but was still determine to cont to sec 5 and go to jc if possible

i suggest u should opt for sec 5. going for cert like NITEC or NTC-3 cert r kinda not recognise in my view.
at least if u got gce o level cert, it can enable u more option to choose ur career path next time like:
if u do well, u can go to poly; while if u do badly, u still got choice to go ite but a higher cert like ITC, CBS or NTC-2. these cert do enable u to poly next time. -
poly requirement not really very strict lah... it fail then retain again lor my ex school also got ppl 18yrs old liao still sec 5..

i will say go to sec 5..
be confidence, try ur best, especially in maths & science.. english at least c6.. then go to poly, no prob at all.. -

Just do your best in your O's.....
Even if you cannot make it to polytechnic, remember some schools like SIM do accepts O level cert holders. They even have some degrees which requires only O levels too....
Education do not stop. There are always ways to upgrade yourself even better!!
If you can make it to Poly or even A levels, then it is a bonus. If not, many ways are still available. -

hey, you are much more fortunate than others who have no choice but to go to ITE..
choose wisely, if you plan correctly you would get a degree by 25-26.. than getting a diploma at 24-25.. -

go take o level with guts, work hard, you can make it.
HARD WORK WILL PRODUCE RESULTS!!!
after all i'm sure you don't want to stop at higher nitec right?
if u go nitec, then study 3 years, then go poly another 3 years. tts like 6 years.
might as well study 1 more year, then go straight to poly, can wan! -
