for e.g. in a situation........where you are attracted to an attached girl but since she's attached, thr's no chance. WOuld you rather give up or keep waiting?
2 sides to a coin. if you dun give up, you would keep thinking that someday they would break off and ur chance will come. you believe that sincerity can work in this situation.
2ndly, you give up because you believe that since the girl is attached, you have no point in trying to...wait for a chance. so as then in order to totally get her out of your world, you delete her off msn, and cease whatever talks ya know...because u realise if this continues, you are the only 1 going to sink deeper and deeper. The 1 who is going to be hurt the most is urself since she knows ur a spare tyre.

As crude as it sounds, forget her. You can still maintain a decent line of communication with her as a normal platonic friend just to make sure she does not forget you lar. In the mean time, go on and date other girls. One fine day, when she breaks up, you will know abt it. she may be attached but as long as she isn't married, why can't you pursue her? love itself is an ugly affair, why is it impossible to break up a happy union?
i say you start by becoming her confidant, play the devil's advocate, find out how her boyfriend is like first so you can become the kind of chap she wants.

1) Ask yourself why do you want to be with her?
She is Pretty ? rich ? treats you well?
2) If one day she lost her looks and can no longer walk, will you support her for the rest of her life? Saying is easy but doing is not.
3) Do you seriously and honestly think she will like you?
4) Why must she chose you? I mean are you rich, handsome or better then her current bf ? I other words why you and not someone else? -
Ask if she has a boyfriend, let her tell you "yes" or "no" with her own mouth.
If yes. Move on. She's not interested in you. You're only going to be an annoyance. There's more to life then this etc etc.
If no. Make your move. Ask her out. etc etc.
