R/s Money matters

its really tough always paying for the meals, movies...etc...
talked to her, she also no money, then she say dont come out lor.... like go cheap places... which i think not possible la...
then she like undersatnds when wanna eat dinner say go cheap place... walked the foodcourt dunno what to eat.. in the end go to expensive resnt swensen eat...
PS: i am a 19 and not working part time so money all from parents.. so kinna poor too, but she say she nv work, also need money buy this n that...
can anyone share this experience?

Go work part time to sustain this. No way out on this. It is not as bad as you think in working part time. Well do things with your gf that are FOC. Taking a stroll.. in ECp, go reservoir to jog or just simply go Orchard and Do window shopping. Window Shopping doesnt cost you a cent anyway. -

yup. i am a poor uni student myself, but me and my gf still take turns paying for meals, movies, etc etc.
alot of times it depends on the person's level of maturity. She needs to understand its still not time for a young couple to lead the lifestyle of lets say a working couple bringing in a substantial income.
not point slogging n saving so that u can by her this and that. how long can u sustain bro?

I always try to share the expenses with my dear when we go out together...sometimes to the extent I can fight with him to pay
I know how hard it is for him to earn the money he gets every month, so will get heart pain also if he is the only one spending everytime we go out...
Just talk with your gf about your circumstances, if she is a good and understanding gf, she will know what she gotta do. Another alternative is to start thinking about activities which will cost less money...ie don't keep eating inside shopping malls unless in the food courts, otherwise will definitely cost a bomb... -

Money is really very important. I personally believe that it's one of the most important factor in maintaining a relationship.
Trust me, most girls at this age are very materialistic. They'll go for Look & money. After a while, they know you're really a pauper, they'll dump you for a richer guy.
Money is some sort a kind of stability factor that girls will look for in their future partner. -
if your gf understands you, money should not be so much so of a problem.
i'm 15 myself. i meet her at least 2-3 times a week. money get from parents. so i save. get what? around $6 go out with her?
i don't give a damn about how thin my wallet is. i don't work. we love each other and i thank God she understands why we don't go to fancy places like movies, restaurants etc.
it has since been two months, and we only do window-shopping, slack at vivo, eat at food court. haven't even watch movie.
even topping up my ezlink is a struggle. honest. -
well all i can say is that your gf has to understand your plight.
no money already one problem. she makes it worse by asking you to bring her to places like swensens to dine in.
if this problem persists, you gotta let go i'm honest. if she wants to be a taitai, you're not the right person to look for (i'm sorry for being so direct here)
anyway i myself live off from my parents and am rather shameful to say this. i pay for my gf meals and all. my gf isn't really getting alot weekly so basically we try to save up. spend less. eat at foodcourt, market, whatever you name it. we cook at home too.
is your r/s underground btw? as in your parents or her parents or both parents dunno abt the r/s of the both of you? -

Seems to me like your gf don't really want to understand your wallet is empty. If she is really understanding she will eat anything and who say foodcourt nothing to eat. So many stalls and can't even pick one? Anyway foodcourt where got cheap one. Chicken rice is at least $3.50. Should go kopitiam. Cheaperer Chicken rice can still get at $2.00, and home made barley is $1.00. If she really understand your situation a plate of $2.00 chicken rice will be sufficient for her. She might like you but she resent the fact you are poor. Let's see how long she can take it before she call it quit with you. Can't blame her ditching you if she does cos' no matter how a man must have a bit of money don't need a lot but at least working and able to support yourself and spend a bit more than eating chicken rice at every outing -

Working part time now isnt a choice, my study is quite heavy and project work all the time. So working isnt a choice now..
main point, she always say she understand etc... and end up wanna this wanna that... and later say sorry giving those sad and disappointed face. After that dont really wanna talk, mood bad.
But after i withdraw 50bucks, she very fast say want eat icecream, those expensive 1, like 6dollars each... i forgot what name.. anderson icecream..
I mean like how? she always act like understand, but later in the end what happen? When i remind her in a serious tone, she become sad and sometimes cry and say i am fierce. I mean... WTF? i really dont dont dont understand it.

i really dont know what to do really...
i know money can solve it... but this got to do with personality, i wonder if next time i no money means?

One way to see through this is to take all the money out from your bank account, then next time if she asks you to pay for meals again, tell her you don't have anymore money. Show her that your wallet only has enough to pay for your own meal and show her your empty bank account. Explain to her what has been happening so far, that you have drained out your own account to pay for her extravagance.
If she reallyyy understands, she will offer to pay and share the expenses from now on, but if she chooses to break up with you, you know what kind of girl she is. Sincerely hope she is the former but if she turns out to be the latter, you know you ain't got nothing much to lose anyway
