  Is there any way to talk with other people at work or outside?

  Talking more for the sake of friendship and etc. How do people get started on learning how to make friends?

  You can always start with self-introduction of your name and where/which you came from (country/company/school).

  Oh....don't mention that you're a PhD holder ok? Cos PhD = nerd & geek.
