    • I just got my electrical bill.

      Farking hell its $465!!!

Only my wife and 3months old baby staying together. How came be that high??? My monthly bill has never exceeded $190 before for the past 5 years.

SP even have a special letter attached to my bill saying my bill is higher than last month. Why did they do that? I can't believe they state I used 1661 kWh when I used 544 kWh last month. Its more than 3 times!! As if I on all my aircons full day for the whole month!

I called them and they asked me if I had installed any new electrical applicances. I told them no, and that I have been using the same things for the past 3 months. One of my aircon could have been on a few times in the afternoon during the heat wave. But cannot be 3 times more what?? They say they will made an appt with me to check the meter to see if it is faulty. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY ASK ME TO PAY FIRST.

I asked my neighbour, who has two kids. They on their air-con in the living room. They said their bill was doubled to $300/-, but no letter. I checked the meter outside my house, it is higher than mine.

My colleague also said they got their bill this month and it also rocketed double and above. Everyone ask themselves "did I on the air-con this much??"

Anyone else got a shocking electrical bill ??

I have carefully been careful to switch off all power supplies, so there is nothing on standby when not needed.

I removed my Thermal flash 2 months ago to save electricity.

I even on my computer less as I knock off late from work and was too tired to surf when I reach home.

I just can't understand what the hell can give me a $465 bill suddenly ??

I had once this Jan 2008. They 'refunded' me '$70' as they over estimate.

I called them up to enquire & they said it was all right to do so but you must remember to read them monthly & submit them via their webby..

for example: if you start reading on the 6th June then 6th July must take reading & so on..

    • One way to check if your meter is working correctly is to switch off everything in the house and go check your meter.  If it has stopped moving, good for you.  If it continues moving, then something is wrong and you can call SP Services to verify that there is indeed something wrong with the meter, or your electrical wirings or appliances.

    • my wife house usually the monthly bill is $200 but in May, the bill came for $300... I suspect PUB screwed up somewhere, but usually most people won't go for check the meter, so PUB have managed to escape even if they made the mistakes.
