    • IRAS now charges $900/- for the first $40,000/- of income!!! WTF??

I am sure it was not $900/- last year, I think not even $700/-.

But fark I didn't keep my last year's income tax assessment so I can't be sure how much IRAS charge for the furst $40K last year.

      Anyone recalls?

Do you hold any shares in SGX?

The previous year's tax could be less because of tax refunds associated with S(44) [i.e. dividends paid by company taxed at higher corporate tax rate, they refund you the difference between your marginal tax and the corporate tax].

    • I asked around and my colleagues pay lesser as they have parents and child claims, while my claims doesn't help much.
