Post the deployment times of special buses here.
''Questions about Singapore buses or buses? Post here!!!'' thread had a lot of pages, we need a lot of time to search for just 1 deployment time.
Special buses are the demos buses (eg SBS 9888Y). Models that only have a few of them (eg Volvo B10BLE CNG) can also post here.Edited by ngjy22 08 Mar `07, 12:36AM

Let me compile a list of what I consider special buses as a reference, so that people will also post their arrival/departure timings on which routes, if possible:
SBS 9888Y (first low-floor SuperBus in singapore) - route 154, if I'm not wrong
SBS 9889U (first bus to be designed by ComfortDelgro Engineering) - route 166
SBS 1688K (only diesel Volvo B10BLE in Singapore) - route 163
SBS 2888T (only Scania L94UB in SBS Transit's fleet) - Express 518
SBS 997A (only non-bendy super-long bus in Singapore) - route 62
SBS 2988M and SBS 2989K (first two CNG buses in Singapore) - former on route 105, latter on route 243
SBS 310G (museum bus) - rarely sees revenue service, so will be almost impossible to catch...
SBS 1881T (only single-deck bus within SBS Transit's fleet with an underfloor air-conditioner (if I'm not wrong), and a prototype of SBS Transit's 1998 refurbishment programme) - spare bus of BBDEP, so will be hard to catch...
SBS 1888A (another prototype of SBS Transit's 1998 refurbishment programme) - route 151
SBS 73R (OAC Scania with completely refurbished interior) - route 3
SBS 79A (OAC Scania with modified air-conditioner) - route 45
SBS 9810X (Melbourne-built Volvo Super Olympian and the only one now with EDS (except SBS 9889U)) - route 76
SBS 2750G (only DM3500 B10M with Webasto air-conditioner) - route 81/ route 70 crossover
SBS 2754X (only DM3500 B10M with plug-doors) - AMDEP spare bus, but look below for a hint on how to catch it...
SBS 2779A (only DM3500 B10M with EDS) - route 153 (is it still a Nokia Music Mobile?)
*TIB 838H (first bendy bus in Singapore) - route 172
*TIB 1024H (demonstrator Volgren bendy) - route 913
*TIB 1017D and TIB 1018B (only Volgren-bodied Dennis Lance buses) - both on route 851
*TIB 1257C (former CSS bus and only Dennis Lance in CSS' fleet before it was transferred to $MRT) - route 980
*TIB 905Y (demonstrator Hino Volgren) - route 941
*TIB 700X (DAF with Hispano-like front) - route 172
* - With the... faeces going on now about $MRT withdrawing route 608, I suggest that you put off catching special $MRT buses for the sake of catching it, or even boycott them as far as possible (except route 608, though), to show your displeasure
.
Hint 1: SBS 310G, SBS 1881T, SBS 1888A, SBS 73R, and SBS 79A are all old buses that may be scrapped soon or in a few years, so if you have not been on those buses, catch them now you must while you can!
Hint 2: SBS 2754X often do route 162 on weekends!
Feel free to add any other bus you think is special onto this list.
Personally, I have been on all the SBS Transit special buses except SBS 310G, SBS 1888A, SBS 9810X, SBS 73R, and SBS 79A. As for $MRT, I have only been on TIB 1017D, TIB 1018B, and TIB 1257C. Not that it's a bad thing

Sorry, please ask other people, this is the only first time I'm seeing this SBS9889U. Maybe you can roughly count it by minutes, the travelling time from Clementi to AMK.

Yeah, I forgot - there are also PA Scania L94UBs running around - I believe most are HippoTours buses, with a few with a private company called WestPoint, right?West Point doesn't have L94UBs, they have L113CRBs, L113CRLs and probably K93CRB and/or K113CRB. The rest are mostly Japanese buses or B10M Mk4s.

What time can I catch SBS 0073R on Service 3 departing from Tampines Bus Interchange and SBS 0079A on Service 45 departing from Changi Village Terminal? I would like to know ONLY the afternoon and early evening slot (1600hrs to 1800hrs).
Also note that SBS 2888T will appear quite early in the morning in Tampines at the direction heading to Pasir Ris during weekdays. The bus does not appear on Sunday and Public Holiday, last seen cameo replacing SBS 2888T was SBS 2815D (SP BNDEP) on 25 February 2007.
If SBS 1881T appear on Service 33, SBS 2754X or SBS 9810X appear on Service 22 or 168, SBS 9888Y appear on Service 28 and SBS 0997A, SBS 1688K, SBS 1888A or SBS 2779A appear on Service 87, please inform me ASAP. Thanks.Edited by TWS4793 08 Mar `07, 11:43PM
