if you have watched videos uploaded by TIB1062Y. you can see the floods of people that want to push themselves up the bus despite it being full.

has the situation improved?

true , a service which can never have low demand from the first bus to the last bus even.

May check it out this sunday. It seems to be happening more often. The forgein workers must know that this is Singapore, not India where you can pack yourself and ride on the roof of the bus.

last time 66, 67, 170 oso packed like bombay buses on sunday nite....
this is not a recent thing as i used to live there for many many years....
see until used to it oredi
and sometimes im oso part of the sardine.

they used to have special services tt end at little india, just to cater to the crowd
i think one of them is 65A or 65B or watever lah

no no, not along bukit timah road, but those services along serangoon road
that bus-stop is incorrigible

Excellent videos taken by Victor! The situation is beyond my wildest imagination, literally. Bus drivers screaming their lungs off, passengers squeezing like goondo-knows-what just to have barely an inch of space to stand on the steps, and not to mention, SMRT officer (the lady) shrieking ungraciously at recalcitrant passengers, terrific drama on Sv67 which even led to the involvement of police (what happened anyway?).

The frustration and impatience was just overwhelming. Wonder if SMRT is providing "world-class transport" for subhumans instead. Wouldnt it be delightful if we imagine our esteemed Ms Saw or any of the PTC Council members was trying to get onto the bus? Highly newsworthy material.

introduce another svc from Sebangwang to Upp East COast Rd via Little India but not following 980 route, instead go through expressway and used more bendies and therefore, problem solved?

tat Sv 67... I suspect it's ppl insisting on their right to board though only e 1st and 2nd bus are allowed for boarding, 3rd bus for alighting if possible

speaking of which reminds me of HBF tat big bus stop towards City. Ever once one Sv 61 bus (5th bus) cut over 4th bus (Sv 57, alighting status).. ended up behind buses started to cut and e poor Sv 57 bus could not move till minutes later

At least 5 bendies to do 980 AM/PM shift on Sun/Pub Hol to be precise.

Deploying bendies on TQ shifts will not help.

i think they should do like SBST style. just PM shift bendies. they downroute from Bugis preferably toward Sembawang then off service to Bugis again.

Hmmm... From what 1 of the Banglas whom I talk to last Sunday, he told me that each day they only earned about SGD $18... So what do you think about the express fare thingy? Lolx..

The officer explained that time when I was there with 1062Y that the buses will down route to start from Geylang when they reach Sembawang. Indeed 1002X which passed by Little India around 2130hrs came back around 2330hrs after going to Sem and coming back...

And anyone going to check it out, I must say, do not do anything stupid. That includes trying to be a controller yourself. In the video you can see that the staff are already very pissed. Anything funny to them, funny in the means of disturbing them, will land your ass in serious trouble. When I was there I did nothing except watch and observe a took some pictures and videos from a distance. I do not hope anyone going there to make trouble and get caught and bring further shame to the community, needless to say no one have the face to go there to look/take pictures or videos anymore. Do not approach the staff unless they come ask you questions, and answer the fact when needed.

In fact taking videos and pictures alone can and have agitated the staff.

For the police case thingy, it actually went like this:

• That bendy (TIB1135X svc 67), was stopping at the bus stop but not within the yellow box in the bus bay area, hence according to LTA rule according to the male SMRT staff, the door cannot be open.
• The chinese guy was very unhappy and keep knocking the door, until when the door opened, and I heard the chinese guy and the SL of that bus quarrelling with each other..
• The chinese guy argued that "how come the bus behind it can let passengers go in and this one cannot?"
• The male SMRT staff explained to him about the LTA rule and that he never saw it, hence he can do nothing to it. (It's a Service 66 Merz behind it IIRC)
• In the end, this is how it lead to the police case...
• All passengers in that bus would be on hold for a while, and after that, the SL drove a bit further down the bus stop and let all the passengers alight to take the next bus, as the chinese guy would be on hold inside the bus until the 2 policemen came down to the "war scene".
