    • hi guys, Having been to Pastor prince talk a few times, found that the guy a charismatic speaker ...now the group building a church by 2011 instead of holding it in suntec...seems like the prince wants to outdo pastor kong..sigh,,megachurch competition?

However Pastors like Prince reminds me of Anthony robbins cloaked in religous form, anyone NCC members?

    • NCC  building look post modern, reminds me of a D10 condo rather than church...and people like pastor prince need to be paid on engagement basis like big time  motivation seminar speakers, what's the world coming to?

    • No wonder pastor prince always look so happy, so much money changing hands...getting sick of prosperity gospel that only benefit the church leaders like him

    • Actually, if it only benefits him, how come there’s still a large congregation going every week? Hmmm.

well, think of it this way. kong and prince led at least a thousand ppl to christ so far.

what have you done for God? maybe if you want to critisize, wait until you've done as much for the kingdom first?

    • Could be liken MLM. Those junior mlm people pay to hear senior mlm people speak.

It could be about how these speakers have the ability to motivate, to create hope to the listeners.

    • People always need hope even in caveman days but this is just too much,,,maybe I;m conservative..but I'm sure even modernity needs to draw a line somewhere especially in religion.

An old wall  properly consecreted here in SG probably is more holy than some million dollar post modern building

What a way to put it.

Have you counted the number of people they have alienated from Christ? Factoring in the number of possibly false converts to Christ, they might have scored a net loss after all. biggrin.png

    • I was watching Kingdom of Heaven the other day...you should be glad that Christians now are not so scary and barbaric as like in the past...when religion was still young...and those who have power...may not be preaching the right cause...

I wouldn't want to comment much on this. I shall put it as personal freedom of choice. Some people choose to convert while others choose not to be affected. After all, you decide for yourself which religion suits you.

As for how much a pastor earns, lets for now keep it as he earns what he should and not what he can afford to earn.

Besides you sound rather hostile to Churches and pastors.

true, but if the big building is not as big or not as grand, more could be given to charity. I'm sure a teak wood table can be replace with a plywood one (example), served the same purpose, yet less than half the cost.

but, I'm sure their members give willingly.

      well, different concept....

a church is just like a home...  u do want to come back to a home which is nice right....

so im sure... church "family members" would want to go back to a nice home too...
