I know being posted to be a man have to go through the vocation course first.. which is usually the most xiong part...
But is it true that after the course, our unit life become's somewhat a little more relaxed? More nights off, more slacking time in bunk.. Occasionally go for exercise or mission..
And i always hear abt tvs, fridges, etc beign allowed in bunks... Or after breakfast go back bunk slp... or play carrom whole day...
How exactly is life like in unit?

My vocation is ADA..
Heard from a Sir that the 3 months course is VERY tough, but managable. After that, it will be more relaxed with frequent nights off..
I dont know if that's true, abt the nights off and relaxed part. But i hear alot abt the tvs and fridges and lotsa free time things from ppl from different vocations/units.

yup, for lets say for infantry units.
ACT==> Whatever course (signallers, scouts, pioneer, guards, etc) ==>ops, unit
ACT= siong, normally maybe 1 nights-off per week. +COS, guard duty, etc, time table, still mostly on weapons trying, ind. field craft, tactics, section attacks, platoon attacks, section ambush, platoon harbouring, defence, etc.
Basically can expect 1 wk siong, 1 wk not so siong.
Whatever course= normally depends, if your the man, then normally also 1 nights off per week max. Siongness depends on course.
Units = 1 wk platoon, company mission exercise, another week UC, IPPT, endurance training, SOC, AOC, games, body maintenance, standby, alert-ambers, reds, etc. (alternate these stuff, for 2 years!
) (Expect 3-4 nightoffs even when the week nothing to do.)Edited by nightzip 21 Dec `05, 6:35PM
