The Champions League resumes as Liverpool take on Arsenal in the first of what will be three matches against the Gunners in six days.
The first leg sees Rafa Benitez’s men take on Arsene Wenger’s at the Emirate’s Stadium. With both teams having got to European Cup finals in recent years, there’s a lot to play for on Wednesday night.
Both teams enjoyed victories domestically at the weekend, with Arsenal picking up points at Bolton and Liverpool beating Merseyside rivals Everton.
Both managers will have Saturday’s game in mind, where the two sides meet again in London, with Arsenal still chasing Chelsea and Manchester United for the Premier League title.

gunners must win at emirates if they wana progress, i don't think they can win at anfield.
actually most english side feel comfortable playing pool at anfield comparing to everton ground.except for torres n crouch, think the rest of pool players r no threat to gunners.

you miss out stevie g, but like i said, anfield on a european night is different then in the league.
for me i think gunners scare gerrard becos he is english n referee tends to protect english. :<once referee anyhow award freekick to him, arsenal will be in trouble becos the back four seem weak against high balls.
but he is no threat comparing to torres. torres can score without looking at the ball. it's kinda important to mark him out tis game.

Arsenal have already shown that they are dangerous for 90 mins.
If Liverpool is not careful at corners or set pieces, they are doomed.
Liverpool's weakness is at corner and set pieces.
Unless Ah Ben partner Crouch with Torres, Liverpool should have a chance to spear the defence of arsenal.
With torres alone, he will defintely be marked out of space.
I dun foresee a Liverpool victory at all.

For wednesday match , Rafa will go onto the pitch , and put 10 lorries infront of goal .
We dun need to focus on goals , so Torres and Crouch for this game , least important .... we need our defense !!! An away goal would be nice .
It will be a typical European night for Liverpool . A draw is good enuf to kill them .
Return legs wise , no teams enjoy seeing
.
Ask Chelsea how many times they see this and went back London with tails between their legs ?

No problem, you are welcome...
And good Luck to Pool for this match... I am one of those that would like to see the 2 biggest English clubs team final... There is nothing better than a Pool vs United CL final.

It's all about Arsenal trying to win the game , and Liverpool not losing the game .
Now Gunner's kang chiong liao , conceded an away goal advantage to Liverpool .
If the score remains that way , we need not win at Anfield , a scoreless draw is good enuf to condemn Arsenal to another Trophyless season .
