      Fire breaks out at Bukit Batok flat; no injuries

      SINGAPORE: A huge fire broke out at a flat in Bukit Batok Street 33 on Tuesday. No one was injured.

      Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived at about 5pm and within 30 minutes, the fire was under control.

      SCDF said the fire had originated from a bedroom.

      About 50 residents in Block 331 headed to a nearby basketball court for safety.

      Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. —CNA/vm
