    • Don't you think singapore chinese dramas CMI?

you look at japan , taiwan , korea , their dramas , fantastic

eg. ka fei huang zi , full house and more !

Is not about the talent we are lacking , is seriously the storyline

Yes , it's true sometimes its abit entertianing , but after watching i will not remember again , is like everyday i open channel "egg" at 9pm 7pm , i feel like is not because i really like the show , is because its already my habit to watch local dramas at that time slot.

basically , when i have time sometimes i just sit down see those actor walk here walk there , talk some stupid sentance , then end. i think minority of people actually wants to catch up the show to see what's going on.

our dramas very lousy , is like just for the locals to see . should be ambitious , make it global . After that you can sell the merchandise , sell the show to other countries and more.

Every 3 years? choose those "cai hua heng yi" , after choosing the champions , after that act a few shows , disappear . WTF... i rather u go to streets camp for potientials . Now create so many competition , i very sure that 2 years later 90% disappear also.

we dont have idols or stars , we only have a bunch of actors

get some young script writers , i dun mind u get it from comics or even remake of some popular jap shows.i believe that our script writers 95% all lao kok kok , write those stupid shows ,

then if want to make people laugh , make the cast accidentally drop towel then the lady saw his didi and then chant like monk or shout like nun.

eh please , tolong tolong , create something interesting for us to watch.

    • I think... they need good scriptwriters. Occasionally there are still some acceptable shows that come up though most of them are now 'history'. Think "the Unbeatables" and "X" Dang An (i forgot what's the name in english). Unfortunately, the script always seem to run out of steam and in X Dang An, they actually 'copied' parts from Wei Si Li (sometimes known as Wisely Adventures). Or actors and actresses, some of them, are really pretty decent lah.

    • Anyway, why complain so much, they are not going to bother if they make it or not, by collecting TV taxes and advertisement, enough liao.

ya,...those young males and females koreans or japs all go for surgery one lah, only young look nice, all make up thick thick, full whitening therapy, face lift, plant hairs here and there, too bad many aunties fall for it. I find them not realistic unlike down to earth HK or even singapore one that talk about realistic of life a bit better.

Anyway, singaporeans alway complain about singaporeans one lah. The mentality is anything out of singapore is deem good.

    • we're not only lacking in storylines, our actors can't act, directors can't direct, and yea...the storylines and scripting is no diff from poly sch projects (some of the better ones might even be better!)

there was a time when our Chinese dramas were better, i believe even Taiwan imports our show then if im not wrong.

for other countries in Asia, Japs hv the best TV, Hong Kong and Taiwan keeping churning out those with the same themes. Taiwanese soundman really need to learn how to record and filter out their sounds properly coz u keep hearing the wind in their dramas. Korean's good...but Korean gurls are just not very attractive to me, its also the same kinda theme over and over tho.

    • Can you change the title to present drama storylines?

Because the old shows were real classic.

i dun mind they use young punks lea , seriously in the business view , establish young punks will appeal to youngster and then can sell alot of merchandise . you know young girls likes to jio young stars.

    • Im only 20 and already gave up watching local chinese dramas and many other local productions. Local dramas seriously lack creativity in their content. Almost every series got this standard bad guy, good guy and someone will die at the very last episode than the end... *clap hand* thats the end of it and nobody remembers it a week later. -__-'''

Local chinese dramas seldom deviate from the standard family problems and love triangle, rectangle, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, octagon bla bla bla. COME ON! Look at dramas from the states such as Lost, Prison Break, Heroes.... just to name afew. They are distinctly different and have very intersting sometimes outrageous plots. The thing is its new, fresh and different.

Local dramas can go much further and I believe that local writers have the potential to do that. Btw, I hope local media will not move towards sex appeal inorder to draw audience like what Taiwan media is doing. Singaporeans dont need such low quality entertainment and stain the minds of our youth.
