I need some comments and views on this following thread.

Your colleague need to find out some info/queries from you. Instead of calling you, he/she send a email to you. AND cc bcc to so many people in your section or dept. End up the whole kampong also know about it.....

Why can't these people just pick up the phone and call? Worst still, if his/her table just behind you nia ( seperated by a piece of 1 meter high partition ). If dun want to call can just walk to you mah. Why die die must EMAIL?

to have it black and white is better than voice which can don't even exist.

depending on what issue
sometimes must cover backside, send email better... got "black and white"
sometimes chicken feather garlic skin thing then just call to settle can liao
sometimes even lagi kiasu.... call liao say liao still follow up with email

Some people don't organize their thoughts as well as you do on the telephone. =P

But why cc to other people who not 'related' to the subject of email.

If want to 'arrow' people, they normally send email and cc. If not 'related' to this one, email only your name nia.

Tomorrow morning I'll call her personally and ask her why dun settle the problem thru phone but instead choose email.

If you really don't like emailing, then just respond with a phone call loh... tell that person it's more efficient this way.

Different people have different work habits... go easy yea. =X

now in working places, everythings hv 2 be written in black n white lah... D person wans d whole world noe dat she did ask u 4 info & expect u 2 respond promptly. This is one of  d office tactics...

call you go to your desk many times simple signature of approval still cannot get send email cc boss job not done not my problem. igot better challenging things to rake my brains over than wasting time on you.

sign darre or not? scared go home sleep. i believe my work is more challenging than just getting a sig

well yeah i resent this culture as well.

reminds me of this hilarious scene in Just Follow Law: different departments were sending emails back and forth, averting and sending darting arrows all over the office.

i'm not refering to chit chating or crapping among colleagues la.

a simple scenario.

you were tasked to ask Colleague A hows the progress of certain project and reminded him verbally the deadline is in 2 days time.

2 days later the project is not completed and your boss asked if you reminded him. he can just say no since its not in black and white and stab you at the back. email will simply cover your backside with these kind of things.

yes i don't understand this as well. the bugger may just sit beside u.

i don't understand the whole cc to everyone thing as well. kinda stupid.

my advice, if u see this kind of mail, don't reply back, since u mention the people inside the cc list isn't related to the case.

just call the bugger and tell him what he wants. don't waste time replying his e-mail.

if cc to everyone even those not related to incident, the sender has alerted every1 and cover his/own ass.

to protect urself,just reply and cc to the same person, boss and such. so people also know u done your job well.u dun like also bobian. a simple task like that can salvage our miserable pay.

i think the person is intending to pressure you into completing ur task on time, and at the same time, up to his satisfaction.

you can't really slack off the task, especially when so many people, due to his cc., knows what you are suppose to do.

totally fucking agree wif u. this colleague of mine is only like 1 metre beside me separted by partition n then she msn me regarding work???!!!

i was like wtf so i deleted and blocked her so she can come talk face to face. these ppl really should be holed up in box with a laptop inside.
