      A discovery made by a kung fu obsessed American teen sends him on an adventure to China, where he joins up with a band of martial arts warriors in order to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

      just saw the trailer. i think this should be nice. esp with jackie and jet starring in the same movie. =D

      but having an ang mo kid as the main chacracter and everyone in ancient china speaking english seems kinda weird. it's going to be a very hollywood influenced martial arts film me think. icon_confused.gif

      white guy gets asian girl. asian guys act as 'clowns' for comic relief. typical hollywood movie. but still, im going to watch it!

      storyline seems crappy.

      reminds me of another flop movie abt monkey god tat has sg artistes.. confused.png

      hmmmliu yi fei..is a drawing factor i guess....another wld be the fighting scene between jet n jackie..

      Wonder if Fatal 4 way between Jet, jackie, Zhen Zi Dan, and dat chinese guy who acted in Matrix reloaded if fight...who's the last man standing...

      Put 2 of the largest Asian stars together in an action comedy may be a no-brainer, but it sure took long for someone to finally greenlight and get the project off and running. But when word was that Jet Li and Jackie Chan were to square off in a Journey to the West type of story, I guess that sent shivers down the spines of their fans, wondering who would play which character, especially the coveted role of the Monkey King. While I shall not reveal it here, it again is safe to say that like match-ups, there are obviously no clear winner, and The Forbidden Kingdom plays it safe too with a cop out of a fight between the two masters.
