Remember Bear's "Temptations or Things I Want But Don't Need" thread quite a while back? We sure had a good time daydreaming, sharing our desires, and realising that there are some pretty wacky gadgets out there!

I think we learnt quite a bit by oogling at what other people coveted, but we didn't know even existed!
So here, the same thread, albeit with a snazzier title that rhymes, for us to start lusting all over again! The sky's the limit! Please include photos or links so that we can all know what you are salivating over!
Well, except that it has to be THINGS and not humans!

My friend has a Sony one which he had to get someone to bring in from the US, coz it seems they dun ship if it has lithium battery or something. The screen looks so matt that it looks like you're reading a paper page.
It's also
good for ppl with lao hua yan, as one can magnify the text by 3 to
4 x.
My temptation is still the same as last year's - my much-coveted brand new kitchen.

Wah!! Have you picked out the cabinetry, countertops, splashbacks and appliances for your dream kitchen yet? And btw, how often do you guys cook?
I think with my current situation, I don't even dare to dream of my dream kitchen!
I do love
the kitchen in my apartment though!
It's better than good for starters!
I did notice that Amazon cannot ship it.
That's why can only covet.
I'd LOVE to be able to read on it
whilst on the public transport here. It's mostly not so pleasant so
I usually bring something to numb my mind when I have to travel
long distances.
The good thing is, you are allowed to eat on board the trains!
When my friend took out a hot dog, my eyes opened wide and in the
typical Singaporean scared of kena'ing fined fashion, asked her if
it was allowed. Wow... it IS allowed!!

Er...I have only been looking and salivating over kitchen decor magazines, coz I dun know if I dare to step into this nightmarish renovation thingy and also to part with the expense...coz we would also have to redo the kitchen floor tiles for a total revamp.
The current kitchen left behind by the ex-owner is
seriously flawed, with hardly enough worktop spaces for cooking,
which I try to do about half the time.
Hey, if you can read from the kindle, I suppose you can read from a real book on the bus, then? Unlike you, I can't read on buses at all or I'll get motion sickness, but I sure can eat on buses.

Don't know... it's odd... sometimes I can read / play on my Nintendo DS on the tram / train, no problem! Other times, I feel like throwing up!
Once, on a
tramride, it got so bad I could feel the colour draining from my
cheeks and I had to quickly go search for a sour sweet before it
was too late!
A major problem is, the sun's extremely glaring here, making it virtually impossible to play on the DS because you can't see a thing!! The matt screen of the kindle should do just fine!

Yeah, it's a great use of technology. Does it even work outside of the USA though?

I did wonder... esp with the wireless downloads and the device working on technology akin to phones.

Anyways, not that they're even shipping it here. And technology filters down to Australia waaaaay slower than in SG so in the meantime, it's just daydreaming!

For those who like a little music with their personal protection: the Taser that plays MP3s
· US company uses fashion and music to sell stun gun
· Public can buy device in most American states
Deborah Kerr in The King and I recommended whistling a happy tune when afraid, but now fearful Americans can sing along to their favourite tracks while shooting anyone who causes them consternation with a 50,000-volt electric charge.
The annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which is expected to receive more than 140,000 visitors this week, is no stranger to bizarre gadgets but the iTaser - as it has been dubbed - must rank as one of the oddest. It combines a Taser stun gun, used by 12,000 law enforcement and security forces, including the Metropolitan police, with an MP3 player and earphones.

Errr.....I was thinking and still thinking about this.
I desire a complete set of chinese tea apparaturs, meaning: electric stove, kettle, scoops with stand, a base box that allows for water to be poured out, another teapot & a set of chinese style wood, marble, mother of pear inlaid table and 4 stools.

[/b]Erm... so that when you zap someone, the MP3's block out their screams?
