  While cats generally dislike/fear water, I know some cats actually enjoy "swimming". This one obviously has hydrophobia.....

  Yes! That cat is terrified.
  I'm the one who usually bathe our cat. I know cats hate being washed.
  So I go about it slowly, reasuring the cat constantly and slowly wetting it.
  And then gently shampooing it. No force, no restrain, just gently preventing the cat from running away.
  When its finished, the cat will be very happy, and look forward to a good rub with a dry towel.
  Despite all that the cat still hates being bathed.
