homo are a bunch of loosers who got disoriented when they were innocent ?
some might be more of a wrong hormone thing, but those who were born well and fit with the right combination of hormone, still go round doing their "conversion".
they are a bunch of "struggling to survive" lots.... justifying their existence, with publicity, evidence, ....
u will be surprised that some of this "man-screw-man" are actualling holding high posts in their company... managers, VPs of $ank, big decision makers in media companies ???
i cannot imagine, my future kids growing to be like them...
they can twist the fact and blame the figures, but at the end of the day, my parents don't want to see such a bull shit... hope their parents are happy about them...
i pity them, when their parents die knowing their boys are still not a man, but none other than another's boy
Saying that you are proud to be straight in a thread discussing homosexuals is just like saying in front of a guy's blind you are proud to be borned with perfect eyesight..Originally posted by enjoys456:Sister HENG@ ?, whould it be appropriate to call u that, or should we call you Man HENG@

But even a staunch Catholic nation like Spain can consider gay marriage and parenthood. This is a sign of their enlightenment. All must take a leaf from their books.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:Hold on guys...Looks like this discussion is turning into personal attacks...
I do agree that homosexuality between consenting adults does not pose a threat to others and it is a valid point that it should remain a private matter between individuals. I have a feeling that the government also wishes that it should remain quiet and a private matter. It is not in their interest to prosecute anyone and make it a big issue. It would be fine if we all adopt a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy in Singapore.
Unfortunately, the gay community does not seem to be satisfied with that and wishes to exert their rights to celebrate homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle. Certain members of the gay community are particularly vocal and this results in strong opposition from the religious and conservative sectors of our society.
I find it strange that people should want to keep religion out of this issue. The fact is, religion and cultural beliefs lie at the crux of this issue. After all, homosexuality does not pose a direct danger to others. But that can also be said of pornography and prostitution involving willing parties. There are no victims in many such vices, only consenting adults. If you are a conscientious objector, you do not have to take part, so what's the problem?
The problem is that with an increasingly vocal gay community, detractors are concerned that their children may begin to feel that homosexuality is an acceptable alternative lifestyle, which goes against their religious and cultural beliefs. It is also difficult to argue against the rights of a parent to bring up his or her children after the religious and cultural norms of his family. Conflict becomes inevitable.
If the gay community in Singapore wants to avoid discrimination and the sort of robust opposition they have encountered in recent days, I suggest they should tone down and keep a low profile. The vast majority of the population in Singapore does not embrace homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. They can be persuaded to be accepting and tolerant of gay people provided homosexuals do not attempt to challenge the religious and cultural beliefs of the majority. The sort of gay activism we see in recent years will only serve to firm battle lines and inadvertently create a more homophobic population.

Sister Heng@,
ignorance is not something that we cannot completely eliminate... we have to live with it..
but knowing and yet denying what is acceptable as mainstream.. is foolish
any parents would want to die knowing their boy has become a good man
any wife will want a man to start a family with
any child would want to draw a father and mother in their Pri 1 art class when they are asked to draw "Your favourite family"
it's tough to swallow for some, and even harder face the reality at times, but that where we are
and that the stand that many will take to protect the family values
this is my stand for family values !!

To add on to earthling's comments....no one in this world has the ability to influence. If there is then all will be one. So please do not make comments as such that gays are trying to "recruit" anyone. Your comments is like stating "God is Devil and Devil is God". No offence to Gods believers.Originally posted by earthlings73:First of all, please do not use CAP, it sounds like you are shouting, and it's damn rude.
Different people pass through different phrases of life. Even though some gays might apparently miscontrued that someone else is gay and wish to develop a relationship with him. But these are the minorities and usually pertains only to those who are not well-adjusted.
Go watch Summer Storm if you have the chance (watch it with an open mind). Oh, by the way, all the actors, except one, are straights.

The discrimination comes in with all the policies that favour married couples, especially with children. But the fact is, gays are contributing to the tax returns. Gays are discriminated even without the need to be vocal. Some of the rules include the purchase of flats, the grant given to married couples for flats. Sure, the rules are loosening up on the flat purchase, but that it's an after thought. After countless flats were left unoccupied.Housing policies in Singapore reflect the society and the government's stated objective of promoting core family values. For that reason, subsidised public housing and even certain resale flats at one time were not available to singles like myself. So this form of discrimination is not targeted at the gay community. As for taxes, I can honestly say that I pay far more taxes than my married colleagues and consume less of the society's resources. Of course it's not fair for me...
It is as good as saying our society has gone into regressive mode while Spain has made the giant leap forward when it allowed gay marriage and parenthood despite its staunch Catholic structure.Originally posted by oxford mushroom:I fear a backlash is building up against the gay community as a result and it is quite conceivable that even the few liberties that were once permitted would now be withdrawn. I see the issue involving the gay parties as a case in point.
