    • Hi all!

It's very unfortunate that my sister's mother-in-law lost a black handbag with around a huge sum of Australia Currency in a Yellow Top cab today. They were travelling from Changi Airport Terminal 3 to Tampines at around 3pm today, 26th March 2008. They mentioned that the driver is an elderly chinese man. I know that the chances are slim but any help would be greatly appreciated and rewards will be given if the money recovered. They came over to Singpore for a holiday from Australia and it seems like they will have to cut their holiday short. Please post contact or information via private message.

    • i make it a habit to memorise the cab number every time i take cab
and triple check that i have all my belongings with me when i alight the cab.

call the cab centre to broadcast message to all the yellow top cabs

      meanwhile, pray.

      good luck.

    • I believe its the best if you provide the plate number of the cab itself , no use if u didn't provide as it can't be help , meanwhile , good luck then.

    • The problem is that they don't remember the cab number, that's why it's near gone case. They have called the cab centre and even went back to the airport to see if the camera captured the cab's number but to no avail. With the hardship the cabbies are facing now, who would want to return a sum that's around their 5 months earnings?

    • Well, I think they are too tired and let their guard down. Afterall they just been through a 7hrs drive to sydney, 8hrs flight to singapore with 2 young children under 4 and lots of baggages. Try to be in their shoes, it's real easy for anyone to say otherwise. Not blaming anyone though, hell I won't even blame the cabby if he took it. Try asking yourself this, would you return the money?

for me i would, because the money wasn't mine to begin with.

i have found wallets and returned them to their rightful owners.

i also have found lose cash ($300) on the floor which i kept, no identification anybody can claim it's theirs.

    • ironic that, someone was asking what they would do if they found a wallet containing 1k.

most people said they would turn it in the nearest police station. One guy said he would keep the money...even though he himself left his wallet contain 1.5k on his car and someone turned it in.

hopefully karma is on their side.

    • Try this :

      1.Call Comfort Lost & Found .

2.Tell the operator the terminal u get on board the taxi

      3.Specific the time and date

It's possible to track down the Comfort Yellow Top cab taxi number base on the time and date , all thanks to the technology . ( see note )

If it's a private yellow top taxi one , then i cannot help u . I hope the victim know how to recognised a Comfort and a Private owned Yellow top .

Actually quite easy , if the victim can recall , if they can remember they see a LCD screen in the centre of the vehicle or not ? If there is , then that's a Comfort lor !!! If not , then it's a private one .

Note : Once cabby pressed the meter , the GPS will capture the taxi pick-up location , sent it into the HQ database , then when that cabby stop the meter , again , the GPS will capture the drop-off location , 100% accuracy !

As in , u just mention the pickup location , plus the drop-off location & the time and date of event , just one click , the lost & found department will know every details .

    • Really sorry to hear that you've run into such a situation & hopefully you're able to get them back soon even if the chances are slim nevertheless

    • In fact , u better hope it's in our ComfortDelgro's cab , cos if in our cab , most likely u'll get it back .

Cos technology made us not to do anything silly to jeopardise our job , for that little sum of $$$ .

Cos datas once captured us .... we cannot escape .

Once they received datas of pick-up and drop-off .... time and date ....taxi amount also captured , how to escape .

So what ? It still can be counter by us .

      It's a loop hole here .

Cos i knew the technology , once i found lost items , after alighting the customer , i pressed the meter even if it's vacant . Fake a scenario that the next pax has got on-board .

So when they Investigation called me , i still can proof that there was a new customer , who might be the one that took it , not me .

      But actual fact , there's none .

So they cannot charge me , no proof .

Unless they check my bank account thoroughly for that sudden enormous amount input into my account , again we counter it by not banking in . We learnt a lesson from recently that stupid cabby who got caught for banking in the $$$ .

    • Thanks for all the kind words here, but still no sound no picture till today. Guess it's stamped confirmed gone case liao. Anyway, the total amount is A$1xxxx cash(yes 5 figure...) and a branded watch. Consider that person who got it lucky lor, can't blame him also. But still 不义之财 人生坟墓.
