toyota coronas used to ply the roads of singapore... their design looks very 1980s, but given the 7 year statutory lifespan and that they're retired only years ago, does this mean they were manufactured all the way into the late 1990s?
anyone has any info on toyota coronas? like engine capacity, years in production etc. i'm rather curious.
miss the feeling of ticking against the piece of light blue metal just above the window winder...

My first cab is a Corona ...
Small , but quite powerful ( if aircon is off ) .
But quite light weight .
Hate the tyre , not wide enough , will skid during raining day .
And the steering , do 3-point turn , tired .
If 4 MegaSize Ang Mo gets on board , the cab basically is a toy , no power at all
I remember i need to off my aircon just to make my Corona more powerful up into Sheares' bridge from Suntec .
it's a pathetic machine .

You never know how reliable diesel engines are,and beside Toyota could still produce a small number of CT141 on an ad-hoc basis

that's so third world... like how certain models from 1980s are still being produced in china (VW santana) and south america (VW golf, nissan sunny B13...)i don't see any of the current taxi models that we have on the road staying for such a long period of time...
speaking of which, isn't the cedric long overdue as well?
