You can just tune down the guitar if you want a lower sound. There are plenty of websites that helps to tune your guitar.

Classical guitar uses nylon strings and is used to play polyphonic music such as folk music or spanish music. It's usually plucked with fingers instead of a pick.

Acoustic guitar uses steel strings (for a stronger sound for genres such as rock) and is the most versatile and commonly-owned by people.

Electric guitar is evolved from the acoustic - basically the guitar registers the vibrations of the strings to produce the sound. Sounds effects can be added such as distortions and overdrives to produce music such as metal and rock. Need an amplifier (and a power point of course.)

      Hope this helps. Wink

      wow cool.
One more qn. Is the electric guitar easier to play than the acoustic one?
i find that for acoustic guitars, its very hard to press the steel strings with the left hand.

    • depends on the guitar itself, guitar can have many differen type of frets and depends on the tuning of the strings itself too.

But acoustic guitar and electric guitar playing are pretty similar, and classical are different play styles from that 2

Heh, of course playing the electric guitar is less painful when you press the strings. But it really depends on the type of music you wanna play. If you're just contended with playing chords then an acoustic is for you. If you're interested in things like shredding and speed picking then you will need an electric guitar to play those wicked solos.

i guess electric is better for me then, but i am a beginner. You recommend an electric guitar for beginners??

If you have the money - a cheap guitar and an amp costs around $300 while an acoustic can be as low as $30.

Normally beginners start by buying an cheap acoustic to hone basic techniques first. It depends on how interested you are in playing the guitar and the type of music you like that will determine which type of guitar to get.

About the pain of pressing acoustic guitar there is really no difference between training your muscles in the gym. While playing the electric guitar is less painful in a way, your wrists, forearms and fingers will still be tired from all the playing.

The most important is to buy the type of guitar to suit your type of music. The pain and of all that shouldn't be a factor. Wink
