does it satisfy following criteria?
1) speed adjustment (so that i can listen to the phrases at slower speed without pitch distortion)
2) sleep function (sometimes i listen on bed then doze off)
3) long battery life with single charge (min 10 hours)
4) support playlists (cheap china made players only folder playback cannot set sequence nor choose songs)
5) drag n drop (creative n sony players good, but their propriety softare for transferring sucks)
6) both mp3 n wma support.
7) have a hole to hang the player from neck (maybe this sounds silly,
but my previous ipod nano doesn't even have this simple feature)
8) 3.5mm earphone jack (maybe this sounds silly again, but 2.5mm is plain troublesome)
pls sms 90.23.08.35 if yes to all the above
thks!

now i know iRiver E100 is one which satisfies all my criteria :)
wanna buy a zen neeon ? it pretty close, selling$50
nope thks, already had zen neeon 6gb before.
it doesn't satisfy the 1st condition n playlists can only be made using creative's lousy software...
now i know the following players meet the listed features:
1) iRiver E100
2) Samsung YP-P2
3) Samsung YP-U3 (except feature 7, no hole)
hope a good 2nd hand offer (within my budget of $150) comes along soon :D
juz got a 2nd-hand iRiver E100 8gb offer at $130 :)
darn...
after some more research, found that only one of the 3 players i
short-listed above fulfils all criteria; that's the Samsung YP-U3. It
has a hole for lanyard actually, according to ppl who bought it
overseas; but the hole is at the detachable end...
the iRiver E100 doesn't have the speed adjustment. the scan speed is
for the rate at which the player fast-forwards (good for very very long
tracks, though).
according to samsung sg site , Adjustable Play Speed is No, although FireHobbit's post here as got Play Speed Control wor...
really dunno why these so-called branded mp3 makers can't even
implement this simple speed adjustment feature... not just my current
"brandless, made-in-china ipod clone" has this, even my antique
alkaline-battery-run Easytech 512 mp3 player got this feature last time.
just found out Cowon D2 also fulfils all my listed criteria :) (confirmed after reading its pdf manual)
too bad i got the iRiver E100 already...
now waiting to see got any trade or else have to sell off the iRiver first...
