unfair treatment from DELL SINGAPORE

  I'm looking for a flat panel monitor..
  
  based on the information collected online, DELL 2408 is a great choice..
  
  but checked the prices..
  
  SINGAPORE dell is selling at 1298.98SGD
  
  while DELL hong Kong is selling at 5588HKD which is around 1000 SGD only
  
  well, i'm not comparing DELL US and DELL SINGAPORE.. (DELL US is selling at 624USD.. which is 864SGD..
  
  I am wondering why the there is SO much difference between the prices?
  
  why MNCs sell the goods so much more expensive in singapore than other regions?
  
  are we so easily cheated? or our salaries are higher?
  
  this is ridiculous..

  There could a lotta reasons what.
  
  1. Country of manufacture.
  
  2. Volume of stock
  
  3. Shipping costs
  
  4. Import taxes
  
  5. etc etc...
  
  If u say US cheaper then u try shipping one in loh.

  More than that.
  Like, I did a calculation for importing a guitar and get it locally. Well, technically speaking, getting one locally is way cheaper than importing one. Deliverly fee, tax, and etc. You must not leave those factors out.

  Probably you'll need to look at the specs of that computer that you are comparing among the 3 different regions. Also, probably it's based on an exchange rate

  bit unrelated, but not all MNCs up their prices for singapore. the ps3 in singapore was the 2nd cheapest in the world at time of release if i remember correctly
