    • Dear all, like to find out about your opinion on two issues:

      1. Is lust important in a relationship?
      2. Can a relationship last without sex?

My answer to the above is (1) Yes and (2) No. icon_neutral.gif

my answer is.. yes to both.

lust to me.. is a desire, it's gonna be hard to be in a relationship if you both don't desire each other. may not be physical desire.. can be companionship etc.

if you don't think of each other subconsciously.. do you really love that person? or maybe you're taking that person for granted.

      Yes to both questions

i agree with dumbdumb that lust is necessary in a relationship. it keeps both parties interested in the r/s. lust is having intense sexual desire and having sex is putting that intense desire into action.

Having said that, i believe sex is not a key factor in relationships. what's important is the companionship and the intellectual connection with the other party. hence, i think r/s can last without sex.

Depends on the TWO person in the relationship. Girls also have lust okay? (Almost everyone wants to have sex, eventually having babies to continue the family line)

hmm if i elaborate on it..

a good relationship will have elements of lust, depending on the.. level of need of the couple.

but lust do not, cannot, must not define the relationship.

i have a friend who switched like 3 gfs ever since i first knew him. and the relationship always... sorta goes downhill after the sex gets boring.

    • No and yes. Relationships tend to go downhill rather than uphill after sex. Like a sense of gratifaction or achievement for guys, have to move on to "another goal"

    • no to both.

to lust is usually to desire of sex with the other party, promicuous sia.

second is no from me, cos a healthy relationship works out on love and attraction btw both parties, not working out thru always having sex.
