u said it urself, the guy was dumb to sell the car at such a loss. 2nd hand fit nowadays usually depreciate at 5.5k a year. not 10k or 20k so kuah zhang.Originally posted by mach10:No, its 20K... tt dumb guy bought 70K, 1 yr later wana sell, can only fetch 50K...
Of course you have to consider the price of Jazz now. 70 - 5.5 = 64.5k. Now Jazz how much? 66k! So how, must low the price to match the current car price. So selling at about 58-60k would be reasonable. But 50K.... that guy either rich, changing bigger cars, or really in need of money.Originally posted by tailslide:u said it urself, the guy was dumb to sell the car at such a loss. 2nd hand fit nowadays usually depreciate at 5.5k a year. not 10k or 20k so kuah zhang.![]()
depreciation not calculated like dat one lah. the one u talkin is 1st year depreciation and its ALWAYS much higher after factoring in the losses in the interests.Originally posted by wbucket:Of course you have to consider the price of Jazz now. 70 - 5.5 = 64.5k. Originally posted by tailslide:Then again I am not talking about depreciation, I am just trying to justify the lower than usual selling price. Calculate of depreciation isn't actually practical at all. Last time my friend went over Subaru to calculate his 2 years old lancer's trade-in price. A 20K lose. How many people you see selling their cars at a price that is original less depreciation?

dats to say he end up with 10k loss a year? not surprising. u apparently quite new to this whole buying selling car thing. when u take a car to a dealer for trade-in in order to buy another car, they definitely makan u jialat jialat for the car wat.Originally posted by wbucket:Then again I am not talking about depreciation, I am just trying to justify the lower than usual selling price. But his topic is about his friend selling Jazz at 50k. So the secondly topic to his post is about the selling price of Jazz. Anyway, Jazz is selling second hand at 50k+/- at sgcarmart too. Once again it is not depreciation that I am talking about. Try to have a open mind!Originally posted by tailslide:dats to say he end up with 10k loss a year? not surprising. u apparently quite new to this whole buying selling car thing. when u take a car to a dealer for trade-in in order to buy another car, they definitely makan u jialat jialat for the car wat.
in any case, read back. i was answering mach10's point when he said fit depreciate at 10k a year, which is nonsense. so if are not talking about depreciation, den dunno wat the fish u reply for![]()

i'll give him the benefit of the doubt if he mentioned 1st year depreciation or something remotely close to justify such outrageous deprectiation.Originally posted by Mach10Someone say tis car cheap? helloo... you will lose 10K in one year. u tink tts cheap?
