Toyota Vios or Hyundai Getz?

Looking at the below cars:
1) Toyota Vios
2) Hyundai Getz
Which is a better choice? -
my 2 cents...
from the 2.. it would be Vios for me..
but for a clearer view.. go for a test drive.. ultimately ur buying coz ur the one driving

2) Getz. cute litte car -
I used to be a Great Fan of both car until I sat and test drove them, basically quite impressed with their ride , handling, build quality, but cannot tahan claustrophobic interior of the getz and vios .. vios is the worst!!! was very disappointed otherwise they are very good car... i will pay 8 K more and get a ALtis !!! of course if I can afford!

If must really choose btw both...I will get e Getz 1.6 auto my fren and I was quoted 2 days ago @51888 K 2 bids 99.9 % guarantee with leather seat / sport rims / spoiler/ glass film thrown in .
Manaul 1.6 3 door should be 3 K cheaper 48888K
Reason is its a good 6 K less than vios .... depreciation 4.5K per year is lower than vios .. Plus the Sales pple of BM sucks ! Test drive both of them to get a good feel and you will know which one to choose liao!
One thing is for sure I will never buy Matrix .. my fren is a victim pay $500 per month on petrol travel less than 100 Km per day !
Of course the Vios may have better resale value 2 years down the road this is something to consider

Engine wise, Vios is better and lasting.
For Vios, seriously, I don't think the space at the back is that limited. The driver's seat has ample space for you to sit in comfortably and drive which is important since you'll be the one driving the car. FC is good too, don't know about Getz, anyone?
I'll go for Vios rather than Getz. But the choice is still yous. -
Just to add ... Getz is more upright so head room better I think.. my perception only ... But vios has air bag which the GEtz do without but not so important I think .. not sure whether Getz has ABS.. vios has it which is quite an important safety device .. just the $6 K difference !! if you are paying out in full is quite a lot , if in installment it may not be so significant after all.
Acutally my fren almost bought the Getz the other day cos the BM salesman attitude really bad give us a f...K face machiam he cannot afford the car -
in the past i was reviewing to see what car i want to buy...
i didn't consider vios for some personal reasons. ( I think the chassis is way too ugly, i would prefer the altis. and no, i don't like sub 1.6L engines since i've always been used to driving 1.6L cars.)
but i can tell you that getz 1.6L is quite a zippy car. goes up sheres bridge w/o any problem. easily 120km/hr on the gradient.
also i believe has to do with the gear ratio, it's usually one of the first few cars to leave the white line at a red light junction w/o even trying.
some even said they get 15km/liter on their getz even they rev often to 4000rpm, goes around at 110km/hr.
also getz dont need struat bars due to it's firewall design. so handling is exceptional.
Why dont you visit the getz forum and vios forum to see the pros/cons?
it will be clearer that way.
i've read in the getz forum that someone carried at 2meter long cabinet home.
i doubt that you can do that in a vios.
i've also read about how vios owners mod thier cars using the 'availab'e space' in their engine compartment.
go give it a try... -
why do u want to drive a manual car? auto is so much easier and convenient without having to clutch in and out. i thot most ladies go for auto nowadays? i'd also go for the vios but still prefer the altis which i'm driving one now. very spacious and fc is good.Originally posted by paulineong83:hey, thanks for ur feedback...

Vios is much much better than Getz. Accompanied my brother to test drive both vehicles and Getz is not spacious for the back passengers especially for those who have relatively long legs (like me) and those who are oversized (like my uncle).
Design and engine wise, I'll still Vios. The sports edition is cool, especially with the digitial speedometer.

Just checked the Getz web site it seems that KMC do not secure COE as agreesively as BM..so teh SE quoted price of 51888 may not be attainable afterall. from my frens past exp who bought toyota so far is confirm get COE even they go for the classic scheme!

Vios, I've only seen a vios with twin tailpipes, yet to see a getz with it.

i'm a vios owner and I would say that vios is quite a comfortable ride.
i am 1.83m tall too and after all the adjustments made, i try the passenger at the back and still find enough leg room for me................space constraint is really not that bad afterall................. -

But cos most of the time the car only sits 2 people (me and my wife), its rather comfy. -
Acutally ............
Vios is a very good car from the outside , inside etc etc .. Just that I had very very high expectation of the car.. one of my fren even told me it is as good as a BM.. after sitting and driving it .. I am abit disappointed never measure up to my expectation ... Pls do not be mistaken Vios is still a very good car.. But it is defintely not for me I would get the ALTIS for 8 K more... any way talking is cheap I cant even afford a Vios let alone an ALTIS !!!

To tell u frankly, I was tempted to get the Altis too. But since I don't need such a big car for now, I would stick to something smaller until I have kids. Actually, I was juggling between Honda Jazz, Mitsubishi Colt and Toyota Vios. In the end, looking at the price, I stuck with Vios.
If not, Colt would definitely be my 1st choice. I really like the look and feel of it.
