Cheers,Pros:
- Solidly fast after 5 seconds, smooth ride
- Cooling alcantara and leather seats (even park under sun)
- FC is avearge good 13-14KM/L (TC said 15KM/L); some only reached 12KM depending on driving technique
- For hatchback, adjustable rear seats fwd/backwd (less passenger seats means more cargo space) , 45degree/120degree.
- 6 speakers, solid kenwood radio/mp3 player
- quiet ride, can't hear engine when driving
- Foot-break instead of hand-break (I love it!)
- keyless ignition and door lock/unlock (everyone love it!)
- if fetch wife, MIL, baby, good space, only loose to 7-seaters MPV
Cons:
- slow pick up at complete stop (about 5 econds); that how CVT engine is
- personally I feel wheels a little bumpy, should change to a better ones if $ not a problem
- a bit to EX compare to VIOS/ALTIS/CIVIC, shd get ALTIS or VIOS is $ is a big concern
- No alarm and SE said can't install one as it may affect other electricals; can't find car sometimes in Suntec and Great World
For any car, test drive at leat twice before deciding.Edited by Latio_Sport 17 Jun `05, 5:46PM

For any car, test drive at leat twice before deciding. As for price, Latio is on par with ALTIS... Jap assembled car same price as Thai assembled car... Though have to admit LATIO has smaller engine cc

no,there is totally no difference. For me,i love the sedan more than the hatchback. This car, though there is a very comfortable feeling and quiet engine, may find the seating capacity a little small, leg room is better compared to SUNNY.

I used to think the City look odd at certain angle but the Latio changed all that...it looks ugly from every angle...haha...now waiting for some one to bodykit a Latio...wonders how it will look...
cannot fit car alarm for Latio? I think you kenna conned by the SA...go to any access shop and they will install the alarm for you. The SA simply saving her com and not spending it on the alarm for you, dude!
the Latio interior look plush though but if not for the Nissan badge, can easily mistaken it for a Renault, not suprising as Renault owns Nissan...
verdict: exterior cannot make it at all! Hatchback slightly better looking but Mazda 3 hatchback would be the ultimate choice.

Latio.... simply cannot make it man. Designers are turning a blind eye to designing for the Asian market. I wished Nissan can buck up. 1st Qtr leader in sales won't mean a thing till till the votes are finally counted at the end of the year.
CVT.... basically as I have said before... operates like a battery car like those kiddie rides where you pound your feet on the gas only to find yourself moving off at a snail's pace, worst still if there's a full load. FC would definitely increase. The Prarie was a good example and I sold off mine in 10 months (Personal record for shortest time vehicle owned
).
Sworn off CVT engine vehicles..., they simply dont make the cut. Dont be fooled by the promo gimmick... Save FC, new tech. At the end of the day it's gonna make you feel that you have wasted your blood sweat earned money on a piece of crap.

hello All, I am pretty new in this forum and I am seriously consider buying the Latio. however seeing the comments posted, I am a little apprehensive. is the car all that bad? thot it provided good FC and driving comfort. I do think that it is not a driver’s car (like Ford Focus), however it does justice for it interior stlying, comfort, FC and gadgets? Would like to hear more from all of you. Thank you.

Anyway... ALTIS too common liao... And as ex as Latio when it is Thai assembled... That's how Toyota has fat profits... Only USA bound Toyota cars are assembled in Japan

when u drive a car, u are inside the car.....what's more important is how u feel when u are in, and not out of it.
Go test drive the car at least a few times. Play around with the gadgets, stock sound system etc. Check out the cosy interior and the nice details the car has to offer.

yes, what WeNdRaGoN said are correct, don't let the no-solid-prove talk in this forum decide what you will buy. A car will be with you for at least 5 years, so test drive at least twice on each car that is in your consideration list. If you already zoomed into Latio, do test drive a Honda (maybe CIVIC), a Toyota (probably ALTIS), a Subaru (probably IMPREZA) and a CHEVELOT to be more sure, you will feel absolutely sure after test drives. Anyway, test drives are FREE of charge.
Overall, I love my Latio-Sport.Edited by Latio_Sport 21 Jun `05, 11:42AM

hei, thanx for all the inputs. I went to test drive the Latio again, this time with 3 others (so we packed 5 in total in the car including the sales person). when I tried accelerating, the car was noisy. is this typical of CVT engines? any of the latio owners out there have the same problem? I read a thread of Honday City which also used CVT having the same problems. inputs welcomed!
