Post the specs here and you'll get more helpOriginally posted by Homebody:Almost forgot to say...
I'm a lady driver and the car has to be auto (I'm hopeless with manual cars)
I've been comparing the specs of Picanto and Getz but all the jargon stupidified me.
Would owners of the above cars give me some advice? Pros/cons?
Thank you.
I didn't know Picanto and Getz 1.3's prices are similar? Shouldn't it be at least a 5k difference?Originally posted by Homebody:Between KIA Picanto 1.1L and Hyundai Getz 1.3L. Prices are so similar.
My needs/requirements:
1) Single person using the car only (first-time buying car). No family and relatives.
2) Scared of parking (vertical and parallel). Hence the smaller the car, the better. (Hopefully to improve with more experience on the road)
3) Usage of car : just to get from point A to B and as a mobile storage place for stuff e.g. gym wear, trainers, papers, bags, change of clothes, umbrella etc
Speed not required from car and I am planning to drive a full 10 years.
I'm concerned about FC. The lower the better.
Any comments/ suggestions?
I'm not sure about Perodua Kelisa (Malaysian car I suppose). I've seen it in Malaysia but I don't like the design of the car.Originally posted by wbucket:I didn't know Picanto and Getz 1.3's prices are similar? Shouldn't it be at least a 5k difference?
Picanto = $43,999, Getz = $44,444 (promo price just out last friday)
Smaller car = Picanto.
FC = Picanto.
If you want small auto car, I suggest you look into Perodua Kelisa. It is smaller, and the engine is more responsive. FC is comparable to Picanto which ranges from 14-17kpl.
Now I know about the promo. Anyway, do take a look or test-drive kelisa. Malaysian it might be, but within lies a Japan heart (engine). So even if all the parts fall off, the engine will still run!!!Originally posted by Homebody:I'm not sure about Perodua Kelisa (Malaysian car I suppose). What's the difference of a 1.1L and a 1.3L? does it mean I cannot ferry people in a 1.1L or else the car cannot move?Originally posted by dryver:you want an auto? well, then you may need a car with more engine capacity, that's means the getz.
what's your budget? maybe you'll get more ideas ......
The Kelisa doesn't appeal to me too.Originally posted by Homebody:I'm not sure about Perodua Kelisa (Malaysian car I suppose). I've seen it in Malaysia but I don't like the design of the car.

I don't understand the engine capacity thingy. I'm totally not interested in going fast or speeding. As long as a car can start up and can go from point A to point B, I'm happy, even if it crawls.
My budget is max at $45K. Engine capacity doesn't interest me. I'm concern about how much gas a car drinks.
There's no way I can drive a manual car. I've tried and diededed so many times at road junctions that I get so stressed out by the time I reach my destination and I have no mood to get about with my business.
Originally posted by Homebody:Dont worry, even a 0.6L (650cc) car can carry four person and move, so 1.1L is more than sufficient.

unless u are ferrying 4 moses lims inside the car, its unlikely dat the car will be immobilized by the added weight.Originally posted by Homebody:What's the difference of a 1.1L and a 1.3L? does it mean I cannot ferry people in a 1.1L or else the car cannot move?

That is the stock car. Do visit SG kelisa club and My Kelisa club for the things people do to their kelisa. Or if you are not in a hurry, we have a meet-up this 31th july. Can come down and have a look. Bring your wife, she will think the car is cute too.Originally posted by F Takumi:
I have to quote my friend's analogy: "driving Kelisa is like driving a tin can with good engine, it's good as long as you dun langa."Originally posted by hp28:you are choosing a manual or auto car ?
if auto, i will vote for Kelisa
nver test drive Picanto auto, but i heard the power quite weak
but for Kelisa, confirmed good pick up + good FC![]()
Haha, true! However I have know many who langa and live to tell about it. Anyway, there are those who think the same for Picanto or in fact most small cars. So it depends on you. Get you want you are comfortable with, but don't think that you are driving a TANK.Originally posted by F Takumi:I have to quote my friend's analogy: "driving Kelisa is like driving a tin can with good engine, it's good as long as you dun langa."
Don't adjust so high then, the seat. Although as long as you are comfortable with it, guess its okie, though it should not have happened.Originally posted by Homebody:Thank you very much for all your comments!
One more question before I decide: Is it alright to buy a car when the steering wheel is only about 2 inches away from the thighs? My leg tends to hit the steering wheel from time to time. (this is after I've adjusted the steering wheel to its highest position away from my thigh).
u are not sitting far behind enuff i tink.Originally posted by Homebody:Thank you very much for all your comments!
