I goes for car service every 10k km driven...some technician will ask me to change this and that..donno whether kenna bluff anot?
1st find out what car u r driving. the lifespan of spark plug varies. some last abt 20,000km, others (high range) can last 100,000km
tyres - this is subjective. check the year of make which is embossed on side of tyres. if it is older then 2 years, mebbe time to change. again, check the grip on wet road. this is critical. tyres r the single most impt factor to getting good stop, not ur brake pads. if u r using comfort tyres, some may not hv sufficient drainage and will skid when the tread is reduced. so rather then waiting for it to go bald, i suggest u change. y? cos in any accident, u hv to fork out $500 1st, regardless. changing 4 tyres cost u less. but ur avg mechanic should know nuts abt it though. also, take a look, if ur tyre is balding one side or uneven tread or is pregnant in center, then u hv other problems. but the last one is critical, u must change else it will explode.
air filter - no fix rules either. it's cheap, just change it.
brake pads- for disc pad, u should b able to see them. again subjective to km. since some pple use them more often then others.
