1) depress the clutch to the fullest
2) Place your left heel on the carpet floor
3) engage the 1st gear in
4) slowly release the clutch using your left heel as a pivot on the carpet floor
By doing so, slowly, you will find the biting point where the car will actually start moving like as if you are in an auto car in "D". When the car start moving, slowly release the clutch some more, and you can actually have a moving car without depressing the accelerator at all.
It worked for me and it is still.

so theres no need to have some revs before the biting point?
also, does a 1.3l car stall more easily?

this hw i do it:
1. clutch in fully
2. release clutch until before bitting point a bit (not too slow)
3. step acc (1000-1500 rpm)
4. release clutch to bitting point
5. setp a bit more scc (1600-1700rpm)
6. fully release clutch
it work for me and my instructor teach me this too. hope it helps
when i fully relase clutch in gear one i clutch in fully and change to gear 2 already. sumtimes i haven fully release the clutch i clutch in to change gear 2 liaoz. will it spoil the engine??
my instrustor told me not to put my leg one the floor he said it will make you release the clutch slower. well i dink that depends. of course use the way you are more conmfortable with.

It is the coordination between ur left and rite foot. HOwever practice makes perfect.
Before u actually move a car... play with both the accelerator and clutch. different cars have different biting point.
I used to play the clutch by releasing the clutch till the point whereby the car starts rattling rolling and going to die off. Den step a bit on the accelerator and the rattling will go off. Practice a few more times den u will be able to know when it the time when u hit ur biting point and the time u need to step the accelerator.
Hrmm i think that is the fun of driving manual car. -
